WEDNESDAY In-person Crafting and Happy Hour

A lot of folks asked for a second monthly meeting, so here it is! Join us on the last Wednesday of every month for our in-person fiber arts meet up! Whether you knit, crochet, felt, sew, cross-stitch, or embroider, come by, grab a drink or a snack, and share your creations! We meet in the food hall at Brookfield Place (230 Vesey St) in Tribeca. We usually have a sign on the table so you can find us.

Production Workshop

[Production Basics](https://learn.soundcollective.com/courses/production-basics-free-workshop/) is a free, hands-on 2-hour workshop that gives you a real introduction to making music from scratch. Hosted in our NYC studios, the session focuses on one core skill: building your first groove and loop. A professional producer walks you through how a beat actually comes together, from picking sounds to laying down patterns to shaping an idea into something that sounds like a track. ​This is built to give you an honest read on whether music production is a craft you want to pursue further. Small-group format with guided instruction and open practice time. No DAW experience or prerequisites required. Polymer Clay Workshop

**Polymer Clay Workshop -** **October 25, 2-4pm (Sunday)** **Learn the art of Polymer Clay and create coasters to use at home or give as a gift to someone you love. Make Your Own Pottery in Brooklyn

North Madison will be hosting a pottery experience with included refreshing beverages at the wonderful Joy Flower Pot in Williamsburg, NYC, on Saturday, 19th September 6:30-9:30PM. Whether you're a complete beginner or a more experienced craft hound, this workshop is a wonderful opportunity to hone in on your skills and broaden your knowledge and experience working with this raw, dynamic material. This fun, relaxed and playful workshop will focus on making a variety of hand-built vessels such as tea-ware, mugs and vases, and bringing your own ideas and projects is heavily encouraged. Take your first step as a potter or ignite an old passion with this inspirational, open and educational workshop experience. Step away from the digital world and instead, relax into bringing your own ideas alive through guided, hands-on art-making. After this workshop, you will be ready to make your own pottery from home. At $110, this event includes all materials, including ceramic paints, clay and various texture choices, professional firing and glazing, and light in-house made beverages. North is an artist and potter from New Zealand with almost a decade of practical experience and a BFA from Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design. She has collaborated with and studied under some of New Zealand’s leading artists and designers, and has led over six hundred art workshops across New Zealand, Hawai‘i and mainland USA, in settings as varied as markets, forests, galleries, high schools, festivals and Buddhist academies. Hosted in our NYC studios, the session covers the core fundamentals: how DJs read a track, control tempo, cue the next song, and move between records without breaking the energy. A professional DJ walks you through the basics on industry-standard gear, then puts you behind the decks to try it yourself. ​This is not a lecture or a feature tour. It is a genuine first session with real DJs, built to give you an honest read on whether DJing is a craft you want to pursue further. Small-group format with guided instruction and open practice time. No experience or prerequisites required. AWOL - After Work Origami Lovers

**AWOL (After Work Origami Lovers) with us at Whole Foods on Madison Avenue and East 28th Street, UPSTAIRS in the dining area.** After a long week what could be better than meeting with friends and potential new friends to fold your work week away! It should be a lot of fun and more intimate than our once a month big meetings. A great place to learn some new models and also get help on models you're been stuck on. Bring your latest folds and creations for show and tell and your favorite models to teach and learn. This meeting is free and open to all level of folders from beginners to advanced folders. Bring paper and your books and also there will always be free paper available so you can just show up and fold! Please try to RSVP so others will know you will be there. FYI: regulars often do not rsvp but show up anyway. So don't be discouraged if you only see just one person attending. Hope to see you there! Happy folding!!

Make Art and Crafts together

Artists and creatives of all skill levels are welcome, including aspiring creatives who are just starting out and professionals. Bring your drawing supplies or whatever creative project you're working on. Digital media like iPad sketching is ideal since the lighting might be a bit dim.

In-person Crafting and Happy Hour

You asked, and we provided! Meet with the group in-person at the food court at Brookfield Place Mall aka World Financial Center at 230 Vesey Street. The host Ivy will make a sign so participants can find the group. Come grab a drink, yarn, and some food! We are primarily a knitting/crocheting/fibre arts group, but any and all crafters are welcome to join, as well as anyone looking to learn how to knit/crochet! 🧶 This meetup is in addition to the online meetup we will continue to provide. :)

Queens Fiber Crafters - Event in Jackson Heights

**Join us at Art Retail Therapy in Jackson Heights for the next Queens Fiber Crafters MeetUp in-person gathering. This is a social gathering of knitters, crocheters, hand spinners who come together to work on their own projects and enjoy the company of other fiber enthusiasts.** **Francisco of Art Retail Therapy has graciously agreed to host our group for its ongoing gatherings. As this Meet-Up has taken off we are changing the payment model to send through payment with your RSVP ($15). Cash or Venmo only. Please contact me for RSVP in cash or Venmo details. We have had many people sign-up and subsequently not attend, leaving those on a wait list unable to secure a place at the crafting table.** **This is a fun easy weeknight gathering of crafters. We look forward to meeting and sharing joy.** **All levels are welcome but** **do keep in mind that there is no instruction.**
