WAC Group Art Show : 5 and Counting

Join us for the WAC Group Art Show, a night of member-made art, good company, and a little creating of your own. Members of the Williamsburg Art and Crafts Club will be showing their work. Come wander the space, see what our artists have been making, and talk to the artists about their process. It's not just a look-and-leave night. Sketch the Streets of Chinatown!

Let's meet in Columbus Park and then venture around to sketch the colorful streets of Chinatown: Doyers, Pell, Mott. There won't be much sitting room available for this one, so we can stand, or if you have a folding art chair, bring it. **We'll meet by the pavilion in Columbus Park.** Any problems on the day of the event, I can be reached at 646-831-9816. Looking forward to sketching with you! *** IMPORTANT: In case of rain, I will let people know early in the morning if it is canceled, and then reschedule for another day. *** What makes our Meetups different from other art groups and classes? There's no instruction, but we like to share our work, and chat and be inspired. Share tips and learn from people in a casual environment where all levels of artists are welcome! Don't be shy to ask anyone anything! • We sketch for a bit, usually 45 minutes or so, and then get back together and share our drawings, and then sketch again, etc. There's usually time for 3 sketches. • Please bring your own supplies - anything you like to work with - pens, pencil, watercolor, pastel, small sketchbook or large paper, iPad, whatever suits you. • We hand out nametags so everyone can meet one another! • We take photos to share on the site later. Instructed Drawing Night at the Met

Instructed Drawing Night at the Met focuses on charcoal pencil drawing through close study of the museum’s Greek and Roman figure sculptures. Our instructor, Elizabeth Johnson, will guide students in developing technical control of charcoal pencils while working from these classical forms. After a brief demonstration, students will create charcoal drawings around the gallery with guidance from the instructor. All-New Fall Chelsea Art Gallery Walk

I hope you are having a wonderful Summer so far. Please join us for the first art gallery MeetUp walk of this Fall on 10/03/26 at 11 AM. Chelsea is about to have dozens of openings starting on September 10th. This walk includes new solo shows by international artists, including painting, sculpture, photography, and more as available. Join us as we explore a fantastic museum-quality show of sculptures and others works by Lynda Benglis, spanning five decades of her career. Benglis broke new ground in 1968 by pouring latex on the floor of her studio, essentially blurring the lines between painting and sculpture. At Lisson Gallery, we will explore Hiroshi Sugimoto's surprising large-scale photography of nature and wildlife. At Olney Gleason, you will love the 30 or so small mysterious pastels by Swedish-born London-based Sara Anstis.
