We will be painting in Central Park under the guidance of a master artist! Please bring something to sit on (towel is fine). Grab your pad and drawing tools and escape the world for a couple of hours with your friends at The Old Stone House Park! Draw the human figure! Instructed Drawing Night at the Met

Instructed Drawing Night at the Met focuses on charcoal pencil drawing through close study of the museum’s Greek and Roman figure sculptures. Our instructor, Elizabeth Johnson, will guide students in developing technical control of charcoal pencils while working from these classical forms. After a brief demonstration, students will create charcoal drawings around the gallery with guidance from the instructor. All-New Fall Chelsea Art Gallery Walk

I hope you are having a wonderful Summer so far. Please join us for the first art gallery MeetUp walk of this Fall on 10/03/26 at 11 AM. Chelsea is about to have dozens of openings starting on September 10th. This walk includes new solo shows by international artists, including painting, sculpture, photography, and more as available. Join us as we explore a fantastic museum-quality show of sculptures and others works by Lynda Benglis, spanning five decades of her career. Benglis broke new ground in 1968 by pouring latex on the floor of her studio, essentially blurring the lines between painting and sculpture. At Lisson Gallery, we will explore Hiroshi Sugimoto's surprising large-scale photography of nature and wildlife. At Olney Gleason, you will love the 30 or so small mysterious pastels by Swedish-born London-based Sara Anstis.

Free interactive workshop: Nature studies through sketching

Join us for a 2-hour, beginner-friendly sketching workshop in the **Brooklyn Botanic Gardens (BBG)** past the ticket check of the ***455 Flatbush Ave entrance*** (corner of Flatbush Ave & Empire Blvd). Led by local artist Anna Balk, we’ll practice observing and recording plant forms through quick silhouette exercises, visual studies, and two guided drawing sessions. Throughout, we’ll talk about what we’re seeing and sketching. *Subject to favorable weather conditions (in the event of inclement weather, the workshop will be rescheduled).* NOTE: *The workshop is free, but **participants are responsible for** getting Brooklyn Botanical Gardens **admission** and bringing their own **workshop supplies.*** **Workshop supplies:** Please bring * a pencil, * sturdy paper or sketchbook (something you can write and draw on without the need for additional surfaces), and * an eraser. Participants should be: * **18+** years of age (children aged 12 to 17 are welcome if they’re accompanied by an adult who can supervise them during the workshop) * Able to communicate in **English** * Prepared to **move around** the garden for 2 hours and **stand for short intervals** (up to 30 min) as portable seats other than wheelchairs aren’t permitted – the garden is mostly wheelchair accessible and accessible routes will be used as needed Expect mindful observation, practical technique tips, and at least two completed study sketches among the blooms. The event is limited to **10 attendees**.
