Mount Hoffman is a retired fire lookout over looking Mount Shasta. Its one of the most fantastic camping locations in California. It is a 5.5 hour drive from East Bay but it worth it!! [here's the link to the location](https://maps.app.goo.gl/hzEXSCvfCG8Ph2bq9) The cost is $75 per person. This will cover reservation cost, food for Saturday and Sunday morning. We will be offering a simple, breakfast, lunch and dinner for Saturday and a grab and go breakfast for Sunday morning. The space for cars up at the Lookout is limited so we will work out how to shuttle folks to the top once we have a full signup list. There are a few beds in the lookout but we recommend bringing your own tent and camping gear, including your own cutlery. More info will be posted as we get closer to the date. Roaming Lake Merced and the Dunes

This is a route we did about eighteen months ago, and I wanted to try it again. We start off in the Lakeshore district, close to the zoo, pass across Lake Merced, and tackle the dunes between Fort Funston and Great Highway. This roam is pretty flat, but we will have a fair amount of sand and dirt to traverse. *Bringing water, snacks, and layers for all the microclimates is the way to go.* *These roams are offered by donation. They are one way I am able to pay my rent in San Francisco.* *Punctuality is always appreciated, for the sake of everybody's time. Please send a message on the app before the start if you are running late, and we will either wait (up to ten minutes) of I will direct you on how to catch up. Once we get underway I have to focus on those who are there, and most likely won't respond.* *Generally half the people who sign up don't actually show up on the day. Camp Django Presents: Gypsy Jazz Live

This concert celebrates the music and legacy of the legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt by presenting some of the most accomplished international stars in the world of jazz manouche (more commonly known as gypsy jazz). Meetup members have seen most or all four of these musicians in various combinations and settings over the years and likely recall how good they are! The musicians, on guitar and violin, are: Jimmy Grant, Paulus Schäfer, Eva Slongo, and Tim Kliphuis. They will be preceded by an opening set by the Modern Jazz Hot Club. The concert is about two hours long, with a brief intermission after the opening set. Note that this event is on a TUESDAY night. Grand View and Strawberry

**A reminder that there will not be any more roams in September as I will be busy with zen ceremonies and activities.** I have had this route in mind for a while. If you are looking south from the Richmond, just west of Park Presidio, there are only really two hills you see: one is Strawberry Hill in the park, the other Grand View at the northern end of Golden Gate Heights. We will tackle both hills (roughly numbers 10 and 20 in the list of San Francisco summits) on our way round; admire the tiled staircases; enjoy Blue Heron lake and the park; and explore a couple of alleys in the neighbourhood - which are very rare in the Sunset.
