**A free day retreat under the trees, co-produced by our community.** For all the up to date info and exact location, here's our **[DIGITAL ZINE](https://thoughtexperiments.kit.com/teipdayretreat-october2026)** We held the first TEiP Day Retreat in August and it was a great success! So we're tempting fate and doing it again in October. This is a fair-weather event. If it rains, we will cancel the retreat and hang out at the Southbank instead. This time, we have an even bigger line up of activities, so please join us in praying for dry weather! **How does a outdoor day retreat connect to TEiP (THOUGHT EXPERIMENTS IN PUBLIC)?** TEiP has become a thriving community because our events create opportunities for people to get straight into meaningful, imaginative, creative conversations. The Day Retreats are opportunities to take that imagination and creativity and sense of community to the next level. They are an opportunity for people to share and learn from one another in the same openminded, relaxed spirit as TEiP. It's outside because we love nature and our last outside event attracted a huge number of RSVPs demonstrating major enthusiasm for outdoor gatherings. Of course, October weather is unpredictable. If it rains heavily, we will cancel the retreat and instead arrange an informal hang out at the Southbank. **How will it work?** * We'll gather in one of London's pockets of forest (Epping Forest) for a day. * There will be a central hub for '[hanging out](https://experimentsingroupwisdom.substack.com/p/hanging-out)' and the occasional TEiP style round of conversation. * In nearby clearings and 'rooms of the forest', throughout the day, there will be optional activities hosted by community members (e.g. improv, forest bathing, poetry, origami, etc.) * It will all be free! **Please [get in touch](https://www.alltogether.one/contact) if you'd like to run an activity 😊** **And please come along if you'd like to hang out and possibly try something new ❤️** **Notes on the general atmosphere:** * The vibe is relaxed, collaborative, and friendly. * Participate in as much or as little as you wish. * We appreciate both depth and levity in our conversations. * A 'beginner's mind' takes the pressure off everything. **Who should come:** Everyone! This group is not about being experts. The more perspectives, the richer our conversations and the richer our collective creativity. ### ⛰️ **Покорите высочайшую вершину Уэльса с комфортом!** 🇬🇧 Для нашей команды это уже 67-й 📊 документально подтверждённый подъём, проведённый под руководством Mountain Leader нашей компании — Максима 🧭. В первый день нас ждёт знакомство с одними из самых красивых и интересных мест Северного Уэльса 🌿. Первой остановкой станет **Powis Castle and Garden** 🏰 — один из самых впечатляющих замков Уэльса, окружённый знаменитыми террасными садами 🌸. Первая крепость была построена здесь ещё в XIII веке из красного песчаника 🧱. На протяжении столетий замок расширялся, а его облик менялся в соответствии со вкусами его владельцев. Одной из самых старых башен уже более семи веков ⌛, а внутри замка хранится уникальная коллекция произведений искусства и антиквариата 🖼️. Powis Castle также пользуется популярностью у любителей мистики и охотников за привидениями 👻. Особая достопримечательность замка — его великолепный террасный сад, который считается одним из самых красивых в Великобритании 🇬🇧✨. Второй день станет главным приключением нашей поездки — нас ждёт покорение **Snowdon** 🏔️, высочайшей вершины Уэльса. Высота Snowdon составляет 1 085 метров над уровнем моря 📏, и эта величественная гора по праву считается жемчужиной национального парка Сноудония 💎. Наш маршрут начнётся в живописном Llanberis, расположенном у подножия горы, на берегу озера **Llyn Padarn** 🏞️. Мы поднимемся по **Llanberis Path** — самому протяжённому, но при этом одному из наиболее пологих и живописных маршрутов к вершине Snowdon 🥾. По пути перед нами будут открываться захватывающие панорамы на Llyn Padarn, долину Nant Peris и окружающие вершины Сноудонии. На склонах горы можно встретить диких пони 🐴 и горных баранов 🐐, совершенно не боящихся туристов. Ближе к вершине маршрут становится более каменистым, добавляя восхождению настоящее ощущение горного приключения 🧗‍♂️. Финальные метры подъёма самые волнительные! Ещё несколько шагов — и перед нами открывается панорама бескрайних горных хребтов Уэльса и моря 🌅. На вершине находится знаменитое **Hafod Eryri** — горное кафе ☕, куда в сезон также прибывает исторический поезд **Snowdon Mountain Railway** 🚂. Мы неторопливо прогуливаемся между прилавками, заглядываем в антикварные лавки и вдыхаем воздух старинного города, который когда-то был излюбленным местом английской аристократии. 🍀 Следующий отрезок маршрута ведёт нас вглубь природы, к загадочным **Eridge Rocks** — скоплению песчаниковых скал, причудливо изрезанных временем и поросших мхом. Эта получасовая прогулка по лесным тропинкам дарит ощущение полного единения с дикой природой: солнечные зайчики пробиваются сквозь кроны деревьев, а тишину нарушает лишь щебет птиц и шелест листьев под ногами. Здесь легко забыть о городской суете, ощутив себя первооткрывателем, нашедшим потайной уголок старой Англии. Departing London early on Saturday morning, we'll head to **Snowdon – the highest mountain in Wales**, at an elevation of 1085 metres above sea level. Starting from **Pen-y-Pass mountain pass**, we'll climb Snowdon via the **Pyg Track**, which offers one of the most popular and scenic routes to the summit. On our way, we'll enjoy exceptional views of the beautiful **glacial lakes of Llyn Llydaw and Glaslyn**, dramatic cliffs and the surrounding peaks of the Snowdon Massif mountain range. The descent is via the **Miners' Track**. It's so called as it was originally built to serve the Britannia Copper Mine on the slopes of Snowdon. After an initial steep descent, we'll follow an easy and gradual downhill path along the shores of beautiful lakes, past the historic mine buildings. After the hike, we'll drive to our hotel on the Isle of Anglesey, where we'll have dinner and rest. On Sunday, we'll explore one of the most scenic stretches of the **Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path**. After a hearty breakfast at our hotel, we'll take a short drive to the **South Stack Cliffs Nature Reserve**. We'll follow a dramatic clifftop trail to the small rocky islands of South Stack and North Stack, and visit the South Stack Lighthouse – one of Wales' most photographed lighthouses. During this walk, we'll also ascend **Holyhead Mountain**, the highest point of the Isle of Anglesey. Despite its small height of 220 metres, it has a true mountain feel and offers stunning panoramic views over the bustling Holyhead Harbour and Snowdonia mountains. This is reflected in the price. *** # 🏔️ SATURDAY — SCAFELL PIKE Our main challenge is **Scafell Pike, England's highest mountain at 978m (3,209 ft).** 📍 Start: **Great Langdale, approximately 9:00am** 📏 Route: **10–11 miles / 16–18 km** ⏱️ Approximately **8 hours walking / 9 hours including breaks** 💪 **Demanding / strenuous** Expect steep climbs, descents, rocky and uneven mountain terrain and changeable weather. **This is NOT a beginner's hike.** Previous long-distance or mountain hiking experience is strongly recommended. The exact route may be adjusted depending on weather, conditions and group safety. *** # 🧭 EXPERIENCED MOUNTAIN GUIDE The event is led by an **experienced, professionally trained and qualified Mountain Leader**, with **first-aid training** and extensive mountain experience.
