Join us for one week diving adventure in New Caledonia. Itinerary: Sunday 19th July - morning flight to Noumea, mid day arrival, check in accommodation. Get organised for following days of scuba diving. Monday - Friday - morning double dives (boat dives), afternoon free time, exploring the town and island, beach snorkeling, kayaking. Saturday - possible another morning dives. 🌊 Coastal Epic: 'Bloody Long Walk' Challenge ~22km Leg 1

Join us for a **22km coastal challenge over Eastern Beaches** as we take on our unofficial attempt of the scenic 'Bloody Long Walk' (Sydney East route) and beyond on two weekends. Originally hosted by the Mito Foundation each November, we are tackling this spectacular coastal track our own way. This is a demanding, long-distance trek requiring high fitness and endurance, but the world-class ocean views are worth every step. Expect a 22km distance requiring a steady pace. The terrain features a diverse mix of coastal boardwalks, beach walking (sand), paved streets, stairs, and multiple headland ascents. * **Start:** 9:30 AM sharp at Pioneers Park (off Anzac Pde, near the Hillary Pde bus stop). Please arrive a few minutes early. **Finish:** Watson Bay for Ferry or Bus to the city. * **Route:** We will start at Pioneers Park and head down to Maroubra Beach, making our way north through Coogee and up to Bondi. From there, we join the famous coastal trail (which we recently completed from the opposite direction!), passing the stunning Diamond Bay and Hornby Lighthouse at Watsons Bay - to finish at Ferry Wharf. * **Gratuity:** A $5 contribution is appreciated to help cover our Meetup subscription and group running costs. Engadine to Heathcote via Woronora River, Mirang Pool and Lake Eckersley!

**If you like bush walking on unkept trails with a little bush-bashing, you’ll love this walk!** **We will meet at outside Engadine Train Station on the west side (for those of you directionally challenged, that is on the highway side platform of the station) at 9.30am sharp. The train from Central Leaves at 8.37am and arrives at Engadine at 9.27am** **From here we will walk through Engadine and make our way to the Ferntree Pipeline Trail.** **We follow it along for a while and then start our descend into the bush towards Heathcote Road. We will need to be VERY CAREFUL crossing this busy roadway as drivers do not expect pedestrians and tend to resist slowing down when they see one (don’t ask how I know, just accept that I know).** **Once we get to the other side (less those that didn’t make it Lol!), we will follow Scouters Mountain Trail down to the creek, cross it and then follow the rough fire trail which goes through a few ups and downs (actually, mostly ups).** **When the fire trail ends (rather abruptly), we bush-bash our way down to the Woronora River.** **We have lunch here on some very shady rocks next to the river, enjoying the bush environment. We might even see an echidna or two.** **Then we reunite with the Pipeline Track and follow it to Mirang Pool and then Lake Eckersley, a very tranquil corner of the Woronora River before returning the same way and continuing to Heathcote Train Station.** **There are some lovely views along the way with a wide-ranging number of native plants (a good deal of them in flower) and some native animals (which hang around close to the trail because it is not a common one).** **We will aim to finish at Heathcote by 3.30pm, maybe even earlier, and head to The Arbour for a well-earned drink, before catching a train back to the city.** **\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*** **DISTANCE: About 15 kms.** **GRADE: Medium, with a few “up” hills.** **NOTE: No exit options along the way, unless in suburbia. Royal NP at its best! Waterfall to Loftus via Forest Walk, Palona Cave & Audley

**Are you looking for a bit of adventure? This might be the walk for you!** **We will start at Waterfall Train Station.** **From here we will follow the track to the Forest Walk, a shady track that makes its way around Forest Island. On our way, there is only one moderate climb and one creek crossing where we might get wet feet if there has been significant recent rain. Forest Island is a sheltered rainforest ecological environment with ferns, palms, mosses, and creek scenery to admire. At the end, we will have a break at the Palona Picnic Area.** **From here, we will make our way to Palona Cave. We will explore the cave, a large limestone overhang featuring columns, stalactites and a little waterfall (a bit of scrambling will probably be required if you’d like to explore the waterfall). We will have lunch here.** **Then we'll return to Lady Carrington Drive, which is the first scenic route to be built through the National Park. It follows the Hacking River and took 3 years to build, opening in 1886.** **This will take us to Audley, where there are toilets and a café. Cowan to Berowra via Berowra Waters Hike

Slow but not super hiking. grade 3. Expect easy but not challenging. It is a casual hike. The route would be similar to what is shown in the attached map, but can be shorten or lengthen, target to make it an around 3 hours' walk. Lunch: Let the group decide if we eat something in La Perouse, or go to Marouba for Asian food. **Health and Safety, Personal Responsibility - Disclaimer** Some of our activities are recreational and involve walking on paths and tracks, sometimes off track in remote, difficult terrain.
