Haunted Hike Through Walhalla Ravine

**Dare to Enter Walhalla Ravine?** There are places in Columbus where the city seems to disappear. Walk far enough into **Walhalla Ravine**, beneath the old trees and steep wooded hillsides, and the traffic grows distant. The houses above become harder to see. The path narrows, shadows gather beneath the canopy, and suddenly it becomes very easy to understand why people have been telling strange stories about this place for generations. Stories of **murder, apparitions beneath the bridge, unexplained lights, and the thing once whispered about as the Walhalla Witch** have become part of Clintonville folklore. Most have been embellished over the years. Some can be debunked. Others are simply stories with no way left to determine where the truth ended and the legend began. Just a reminder: **if you RSVP, please make every effort to attend.** This is going to be a 3-mile hike, so please make sure you can do this. There may also be some slightly rugged terrain (nothing too crazy) but depending on where we end up, there might be some light climbing. **OPTIONAL:** Afterward, anyone who wants to keep the evening going can join us nearby for drinks at Derive Brewing Company or pizza and drinks at Hounddog’s.

We meet to learn and practice American Sign Language and to grow our familiarity with Deaf culture. Facilitated by hearing folks (with a connection to a professional interpreter) using Deaf-created content. People of all ASL skill levels are welcome! As we learn, we hope to connect more with the Deaf community in Central Ohio. Join us as you're able! Come regularly or just once - whatever you're looking for! Visit A.P.E.S. Primate Sanctuary, then hang out at NACHOFEST!

Meet at the American Primate Educational Sanctuary (A.P.E.S.), 8380 Kennedy Rd. Blacklick. A.P.E.S., the American Primate Educational Sanctuary, is a non-profit organization that cares for eight White-Handed Gibbons. Located in Blacklick, they house primates that were previously kept as household pets. They are committed to be protectors, conservationists, caregivers and educators for all primates, especially the Capuchin monkey and the endangered White-Handed Gibbon. When finished at A.P.E.S., we will head on over to Edison Brewery, 785 Science Blvd, Gahanna, for NACHOFEST for an afternoon of live music, community, and a celebration of the NACHO community (stay as long as you'd like; it's open until 6 pm). There are bands playing throughout the event, including the TBDBITL Alumni Band, Clintonville Community Jazz Band, NACHO Saxadillas, Cap City Funk, and the NACHO Street Band\*. The Taquitos Food Truck will be there. \*The NACHO Street Band is made up of Nationwide Children’s Hospital staff, family, and friends working to raise awareness and money for the hospital and the Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio. Free to attend and donations can be made to the campaign for the Mid-Ohio Food Collective. Every dollar donated means 2 1/2 meals for those in need. Casual Hobby Night at The Arcane Foundry: Drinks & More

Come hang out at **The Arcane Foundry** for a casual evening of miniature painting, terrain building, drinks, and conversation. I’m working on putting together a gaming room and have plenty of unpainted miniatures and terrain that could use some attention, so bring your own project or **help me work through mine**. This is **NOT** a class or structured event. It’s really just an excuse to get some creative people together, paint some minis, have a few drinks, put on some music, and shoot the shit. Beginners are completely welcome. I’m also into **woodworking**, **plant propagation**, **gardening**, **axe and knife throwing**, and other maker hobbies, so there will probably be plenty of other projects and future hangouts if people click. I have an axe/knife throwing area, a blacksmithing forge and a woodworking station outside for future events. **Bring a drink if you'd like, bring a project if you have one, and come hang out. No real agenda, just paint, create, and meet some people.** Yes, The Arcane Foundry is my hobby-based business, but no, I will not be working and you do not need to buy anything. Meet at the Nature Center parking lot at Blendon Woods to hike the Sugarbush, Hickory Ridge, Overlook, and Brookside trails approximately 4 miles at 18 min/mile pace. Optional lunch if there is interest :)

Old Beechwold; What You Don't Know May Surprise You

On this tour we'll enjoy a 2.5 miles stroll through beautiful Old Beechwold. We'll learn about its unique origin, discuss its transformations through time, and witness its hidden gems. Due to the lack of any sidewalks and the narrow, winding roads here the tour size is limited. If you have weak knees or balance issues please bring a hiking pole or two as we may go "off trail" for a bit of our tour, depending on interest. We can discuss lunch options afterward for those folks who would like to go to lunch nearby. I will cancel this tour in the event of likely rain.

Cycle 22 miles on the TJ Evans Trail (Johnstown to Granville)

Ride 11 miles from Johnstown to The Station in Granville for lunch, then 11 miles back. Join us as we hike 2 miles in the Gahanna Woods park this Tuesday, at 6:30 pm. We will hike about a mile in the state nature preserve and a mile in the Gahanna city park on dirt trails and wooden boardwalks. We look forward to hiking with you!
