Taught by me in small sections (14 years teaching experience) in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. All materials and mediums provided. Next event Monday 3rd Aug at The White Lion (6-8pm) S2 4HT. We are delighted to be working with Artist Laura Smith for this life painting two day intensive of texture and colour- Laura will be leading us through gestural painting, using markmaking and layering of paint to create confident compositions. We will be using techniques to build your confidence in drawing with paint, working on the fleshy-ness of the model and how to handle pattern so that both complement each other We will be working from the model in a Matisse inspired set, with plenty of inspiration to help us channel the vibrancy and energy of Mattise. With plenty of demonstrations and lots of individual tuition – you can take this class to your own level and really improve your confidence in painting. A great day of creativity – perfect for beginners and ideal for those wanting to brush up on skills and learn more. About Laura Smith Laura studied at the Slade school of Art for her BA and MA, and has exhibited extensively across London and the UK as well as Europe. The session is held in the TRA Community Hall, Ground Floor, Simla House, Weston Street, SE1 3RL. All abilities are welcome to draw and meet likeminded people. Two hours of active dynamic poses from 2 to 25 minutes. £14.00 for the session. The group is run on a drop-in basis. Pay on the night. Cash or card.
