T is for The Coming of Age exhibition @ Wellcome Collection
Sun, Sep 27, 1:30 PM*"Youth is the gift of nature, but age is a work of art."* (Stanislaw Jerzy Lec) **Join us at the Wellcome Collection for The Coming of Age exhibition.** ‘The Coming of Age’ explores experiences and perceptions of ageing, from adolescence to later life, and asks how societies can adapt for us all to age better. Across the globe, people are living longer. One in ten children in the UK are expected to live beyond the age of 100. But who gets to live longer and ‘age well’? This exhibition explores how experiences of age are shaped by our environment, culture and society. ‘The Coming of Age’ features 150 artworks and objects, from historical artefacts to works by contemporary artists including John Coplans, Serena Korda, Suzanne Lacy, Anna Maria Maiolino, Rory Pilgrim, Paula Rego and more. Bringing together different perspectives from art, science and popular culture, this exhibition challenges assumptions about life stages and asks what greater longevity means for all of us. **Read more here:** **[https://wellcomecollection.org/exhibitions/the-coming-of-age](https://wellcomecollection.org/exhibitions/the-coming-of-age)** __________________________________________________________ **MEET DETAILS:** **FROM 2.00pm: MEET AT WELLCOME COLLECTION CAFE (optional)** Address: 183 Euston Road, London, NW1 2BE Look out for the LoMAZ sign on the cafe table and host who will be wearing a LoMAZ badge. **2.30pm: ENTER THE MUSEUM/EXHIBITION** Address: 183 Euston Road, London, NW1 2BE **4.15pm-Late: PUB SOCIAL: THE CROWN AND ANCHOR (optional)** We'll head to a local pub for a social chit chat over drinks. **Address:** 137 Drummond Street, NW1 2HL __________________________________________________________ **TICKETS:** **Entrance is FREE and no ticket is required.** **GETTING THERE:** **[https://wellcomecollection.org/visit-us](https://wellcomecollection.org/visit-us)** **EVENT WHATSAPP GROUP:** Please join the event WhatsApp group to help you find the group on the day.
