**MEETING POINT: Vallcarca station, address: Avinguda de la República Argentina 110.** **EN: After the turnstiles, take the stairs on the right to go up.** **ES:** **Después de los torniquetes, sube por las escaleras de la derecha.** **IMPORTANT: Setup time for this event takes 10-20 minutes, practice session will last 1 hour.** When I went to language exchanges in Barcelona, I always left frustrated. A lot of people were there more to socialize or flirt than to actually learn. The bar was too loud. I had to shout to be heard. People stayed in closed groups I couldn't join. And after two hours, I had only practiced the language I wanted to learn at a surface level. I didn't need another night out. I needed to actually get better in the language. So I made the format I wanted 👉: 1. **No bar**. We go for a walk or we're in a garden. Somewhere quiet, where you can hear the person next to you. 2. **Only one language pair: Spanish-English**. You sign up for your language and your level. Everyone around you is learning the same thing. 3. **In pairs**: You get a partner and we change every 15 minutes. No closed groups. Everyone talks the whole time. 4. **With a guide**: The event is structured in 3 sections where you can practice writing and speaking. We give you a topic for each part. Something real to talk about — not "where are you from?" again. 5. **Materials and setup**: Dedicated materials will be provided to you for the speaking part. Also, for the writing part, we provide a free mobile application that support your practice (the download is of course optional and you can attend the event without the application). 6. **You leave with your cheatsheets**: During the walk, you'll use tools that correct what you couldn't say, so you can review it later. You go home with a real practice session you can read back and learn from. **This is not a party. It's for people who are serious about learning and tired of noisy bars. If you're here to learn, you'll fit right in - if you're not, this probably isn't for you.** **Warning ⚠️**: * The park is uphill (that's also why there is a beautiful view!) so bring water with you and stay prepared for a short hiking. RSVP ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH.** At language exchanges, groups never last because people don't relate to each other. You end up talking with random people you have nothing in common with. Next time it's another random group, and you start again from "where are you from?". It's Russian roulette, and you waste so much time. I didn't want more random chats. I wanted people I'd actually keep practicing with. I wanted people who where serious about learning. So I made the format I wanted 👉 1. **Apply first.** The form is written in the language you're learning. It's your first exercise, and it tells us who you are and who you need to write to. 2. **Get matched.** Groups of 4 with at least 1 person with good level of Spanish or English. Same level first, then age, same job or goal (marketing, tech, IELTS, moving to Spain...), then shared interests. 3. **Meet your group.** At the event you find out who's in your group and do a first guided exercise together, writing and speaking. We give you the topics and materials. 4. **Keep going on WhatsApp.** After the event, your group continues in writing. 3 prompts a week: you write in the language you're learning and reply to one person in your native language. **Warning ⚠️:** * No form, no group. We build the groups from the form, so there are no last-minute spots. * If we can't balance your group (for example, too many Spanish speakers), you go on the waitlist with priority for the next edition. * It's for people who are serious about learning.
