Protest Petco to Stop Selling Animals
Sat, Sep 5, 9:00 PMJoin us in demanding that Petco stop selling animals! Animals are NOT merchandise. Animals sold in Petco, Petsmart, and other pet stores come from horrifically cruel breeding mills and some species are even kidnapped from their habitats in the wild. Shockingly, the majority of animals bred and shipped to pet stores die before they even reach the store shelf. Selling animals is costing millions of them their lives and it’s time for Petco to stop selling them! **When:** Saturday, September 5th, 2pm **Where:** Meet at Franklin Square at the corner of 16th St and Bryant St, San Francisco. We will walk to Petco together **Accessibility:** We will walk a short distance from the meeting location to the store where we will mostly be standing for about an hour If you would like to learn more about this campaign and get involved in the Bay Area to help end the retail sale of animals in pet stores please sign up at [dxe.io/adoptdontshop](http://dxe.io/adoptdontshop?fbclid=IwcGRvZgFleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFQNExud2ZCZmRBQkRCYXJFc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHtrAjAEk5MbhMvXxVVeb8UDNGH5OOltCaqnBHB9nBO11qAvF4RvGaXoXpYhG_aem_1EWAQfIz5VyO7Wb5FivC1g) and take action at [dxe.io/actionsteps](https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fdxe.io%2Factionsteps%3Ffbclid%3DIwcGRvZgFleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFQNExud2ZCZmRBQkRCYXJFc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHhhVWzBXx1PuO9vC2ZYAs4oiUHNWj0a--u4hm-kFmj6vms-4QKcdzY--sZZd_aem_eCJGdyJ3UR9Hn1ZBeOovQg&h=AUAWxakAZGHGxacP5NNrwx2vh1ybGV7oLrmAyuwGqlwwTgmNpS9M4FQmDrmZzX3V_WbhwD0dsqdYABRrv-wYd-uNodAUIqxxW9ssE0-NJOMTTGtdrFxJP-DSHOzIfKaFgH5IYI28AeoGYiUxnz5EYU5O9Pu2OwgF&__tn__=q&c%5B0%5D=AUB9cyT-sA-VBxftMLKI3FvOmpKi2tl8NJueWql5aAj6mc-YN4LI4sD7n18Mh89ywVauPyjgRM2X1e62aK8GzqDXXIFqVF9WD1zCNoRdclg8Q3jD0IleYd82xB3wI3ykb6BlyxcZDwmmFR3a_fO2uTRM1Cb1aXMSzfM) \-\-\- Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) is a grassroots network of animal rights activists. Goodbye to Summer -- Ferry trip to Angel Island
Sat, Aug 29, 4:45 PMSummer is getting to end, the labor long weekend is coming. Have you made up your plan yet? If not, come with us to take a **ferry** trip to the Angel Island state park, in the **middle** of the bay, in this coming Sat. Aug 29th. [https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=468](https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=468) https://www.expedia.com/Angel-Island.dx502570 The end of August also marks the **anniversary** for our org., and a half year anniversary for our first event in SF -- the Pillow Fight in Embarcadero square on Valentine Day's evening. We have crossed long distance since then, walked in most of the major events and parades in the city, and volunteered in many: The Chinese New Year, Cherry Blossom, the Carnaval, the Pride, North Beach, Fillmore Jazz, Nihonmachi Japantown, Stern Grove, etc. etc.. Also the local festivals, the state park volunteering, and the local Golden Hour walks ... It is a time to look back, it is also more a time to look **forward**. At the turn of the season, we would like to invite our alumni, who have attended our events, and those who are interested in our future activities, to go with us, to take ferry together to visit the beautiful Angel Island at the center of the bay. Bring your friends. Fellow **volunteers, community builders**? You are especially welcome. A special invitation to those **new in towns**. In our recent events, we noticed a high percentage of new comers. So come to meet your fellow freshmen in bay area, and make some joint activity plans. There are a few options to spend the day on the island, there is around the island walk trail, there is a hike up Mt. Livermore, you can also visit the historic Immigrant jail on the island. We will discuss and decide on the ferry. The ferry ticket $20 for round trip already includes entry fee to the Angel Island state park. Dogs and drones are not allowed on the island. There is said to be a cafe on the island. We would go picnic together, so prepare some food and water with you. The first ferry leaves the Ferry Building at 10:15am, at Terminal B. Be sure to get there before 10am to secure a seat. Credit card to tap to buy ferry ticket. **Schedule**: Location: Ferry Building, Gate B, SF Date: 9:45am Aug 29 Sat. Return: 3:20pm Ferry from Angel Island. 4:50pm Last returning ferry.
