From The Journey Node Community Meetup Group

**Senior Career in Banking and Technology: Fireside Chat with Vanessa Yiu, Chief Technology Officer for Group Technology Infrastructure at Deutsche Bank *(In Person in Central London & Online)*** An afternoon for professionals building careers in Banking and Technology, a candid conversation with a technology executive who has spent over 23 years at the most senior levels in Investment Banking. Hosted by The Journey Node in Central London **The Event** * What skills and capabilities matter most in banking and technology right now? * How do you shift perception to go from mid to senior-level? * How do you ask your manager for the right challenges and positioning for promotion? * How do you frame moving between companies so it strengthens your story instead of raising questions? * How do you articulate your value and get hired when your background doesn't directly match the job description on paper? **Join us for a Fireside Chat with Vanessa Yiu, Chief Technology Officer, Group Technology Infrastructure, Deutsche Bank** This is a candid conversation with someone who has navigated all of it at the highest level, across Goldman Sachs, UBS, and Deutsche Bank. Followed by open Q&A: ask her the questions you can't ask at work. **About Vanessa** Vanessa is the Chief Technology Officer for Group Technology Infrastructure at Deutsche Bank, where she leads technology strategy for the bank’s infrastructure platforms. She joined Deutsche Bank in November 2025 from UBS Group, where she served as Technology Fellow and Head of Core Engineering for their Group CTO division. Prior to Deutsche Bank, Vanessa spent nearly two decades at Goldman Sachs in progressively senior engineering roles across application infrastructure, global enterprise platforms and architecture, and identity and access management. Vanessa is a Fellow of The British Computer Society and holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge. **Who this is for** * Early and mid-career professionals in technology, technology professionals in Banking, or in adjacent roles looking to move into technology roles in Banking * Women who want the real conversation, with peers who get it, and a senior woman who's lived it * Graduates exploring technology careers in Banking **Details** Saturday 8 August, 2-4pm Online tickets available. Online attendees receive a Zoom link closer to the event date. **The Journey Node Community** The Journey Node is a global life skills platform and community for professionals ready to upgrade with 1:1 and group programmes across 7 pillars of life *(Self-Discovery, Personal Finance, Communication, Career Essentials, Health, Relationships, Technology for Life Skills)*. We help people build the life skills they need to thrive while fostering meaningful connections within a global community guided by UK and internationally certified coaches and experts.
