Riverdale Park 5K Run / Walk / Jog

Riverdale Park 5K Run / Walk / Jog

Sun, Oct 18, 1:30 PM
From Riverdale Park 5K
4.8

5K every week till the snows come down! Or try to! We'll meet by the track. I'll be there early to warm up. We will start the 5K exactly at 9:30am. As mentioned in the About Us, * Using the park track we can all go at our own pace and never really be left behind unless we all finish way ahead of you. :D I think an hour is enough time to dedicate to the run. I'm pretty slow, so you will likely have me around for most of the hour. * Members are free to leave the run whenever they want. * Bring your kids, your pets, your partners, etc. * All encouraged to stick around afterwards and enjoy the park or neighbourhood on your own. * Let's get stronger, healthier and foster a great community at the same time. We also welcome runners who are not in our neighbourhood and want to join us spiritually and run from their own neighbourhoods. :-) Imagine how much healthier and communal the world would be if we all stopped for an hour once in a while to run together; re-centring and re-charging together?

You can e-transfer to the following email at:** **torontohistorywalks@gmail.com** Start the fall season on a high note with this frightening walking tour hosted by **HH Holmes** the most prolific serial killer in American History. Considered the first serial killer he will conduct this entire tour from beginning to end. It will keep you up late at night for days. This tour will be hosted and conducted by a man who committed some of the most vicious crimes, and there is a Toronto connection to it all. He loved Toronto and wished it well. From serial killers to strange disappearances, this tour will explore some of the most disturbing true life cases, solved and unsolved, over the last 140 years here in Toronto. From old Sayer Street in the old Ward to Hospital Row. In areas that one would find quiet, and comfortable, there are demons hiding, some in plain sight. Like HH Holmes said just before he dropped through the trap door of the gallows at Moyamensing Prison; "I always had the Devil in me." This is not a **ghost** tour but a continuation of the Dark History of Toronto Series that started back in 2019 with Volume 1. This horrific walking tour is for all levels and walkers. **But this tour is not for children under the age of 12** The tour begins at the **Toronto Sign** in Nathan Philips Square. The Sacrifice (Ready Set Go - ETOBICOKE) + πŸŽƒ Nights of Lights Bonus Event!

The Sacrifice (Ready Set Go - ETOBICOKE) + πŸŽƒ Nights of Lights Bonus Event!

Fri, Oct 30, 10:40 PM
From Toronto Escape Room Meetup
4.9

\*PLEASE READ ALL BELOW, EVEN IF YOU'RE A REGULAR!\* \*UNSECURED RSVPs WILL BE REMOVED! PLUS, there are BONUS, AFTER-EVENT DETAILS!\* πŸŽƒ EVENT DETAILS: Event #54! Spoookyyyy!!! This month, we have a \*special, festive, bonus, after-event\*! Read on to make sure you get the necessary details! Just in time for Halloween, we have FOUR rooms at a NEW LOCATION for you to choose from! Costumes recommended - you'll see why below! \*\*Please note: This is the \*NEW\* Ready Set Go ETOBICOKE location - not the Mississauga location, where we have done rooms in the past. \*\*\*BIG NOTE: The rooms this month are each 1 hour, but they start at slightly different times, so please make note of the START TIME for the SPECIFIC ROOM you want to do. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! \*\*\*\*This month, after the escape shenanigans, we'll be making our way to a \*special bonus event\* BONUS EVENT: Nights of Lights + Pumpkinville! πŸŽƒ -> TICKETS: I HAVE ARRANGED A DISCOUNTED GROUP RATE ($22.50 per person). So, if you would like to join the bonus event, please send an additional $22.50 as part of your RSVP email (more about that below)! Yes, you could join/pay the bonus event venue on the day, as long as there are still tickets (in theory Nights of Lights could sell out), but you'd have to risk it and pay full price at the door. -> DETAILS, from their site: "****The ultimate fall experience is back - bigger, more interactive, and packed with even more ways to play. Journey through more than 1.5 million dazzling lights, explore incredible new scenes and photo moments, then dive into Pumpkinville for midway rides, carnival games, interactive attractions, seasonal food, live entertainment, and more than 15,000 real pumpkins." There is also an optional haunted house! πŸ¦‡ -> TRAVEL: Nights of Lights is just a hot 4-minute drive from the escape room company! If you need a carpool from the escape room to the bonus event, we can arrange that on the day. -> TIMING: I'm guessing we'll arrive at the bonus event location in time for the 8:45 pm entry slot. I'm told there will likely be no line to get in. This timing accounts for us to finish our escape rooms, take some pics, and then make our way over. Nights of Lights is open 'til midnight. Stay as long as you want! -> FOOD/DRINKS: Yes, Nights of Lights has food and drinks for sale! I'm told there is a variety of food trucks! We can decide on the day if we start with food/drinks, or check out the experience and discover the food/drinks when we get there. You can learn more about which food trucks will be there at the link below... -> DRESS CODE: COSTUMES HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! There will likely not be a ton of time for getting into costume after the escape room, so I recommend coming in costume for the whole event! Yay! FYI the bonus event is outdoors and rain or shine, so keep the weather in mind as you get your costume ready! -> QUESTIONS: I am not running the bonus event, I'm just gonna be attending, like you, so if you have questions, please ask via the link below. -> BONUS EVENT LINK, FOR INFO ONLY (again, no need to buy your own ticket unless you feel like paying full price): https://nightsoflights.ca/ NOW, ON TO THE MAIN EVENT! BOOKING, FOR THE ESCAPE ROOMS ONLY: RSVP PROCEDURE: \*\*\*To secure your RSVP to the Escape Room part of this event, you must complete TWO steps. Both steps must be completed to attend. Simply RSVP'ing to this event via the Meetup "RSVP" button will NOT secure your ticket. This group is incredible and we have a ton of fun. I appreciate your help in making sure it can run smoothly. πŸ™‚ Here are the steps, in order: STEP 1. Please send an etransfer for $46 for the escape room only, per admission. If you are coming to Nights of Lights, please send over the additional $22.50. SO, if you are doing both the escape room and bonus event, your etransfer will be $68.50. Etransfer to [TorontoEscapeRoomMeetup@gmail.com](mailto:TorontoEscapeRoomMeetup@gmail.com) In this email, please note: -> If you are paying for more than 1 admission, please send the appropriate amount for the number of tickets you want (e.g. 2 tickets = $92 for just the escape room, or $137 for the escape room + bonus event). Please let me know which room you're booking for, whether or not you're attending the bonus event, and please note the name of anyone else you're paying for. \*\*\*Out of fairness to members who are committed to attending, if I do not receive your etransfer within 24 hours of you joining the event, your RSVP will be removed to open up space for someone else. You are free to re-join when you are ready to send the etransfer, space permitting. STEP 2. Once you have completed STEP 1, click RSVP on the event for the room you want. If you are bringing a guest, select a +1. Managing large events can be complex so thank you for helping me keep track of all you incredible, amazing escapers! πŸ’• \*\*\*\*\* We have four rooms for you to choose from this month! Feel free to join this room, or check out the other rooms here: Quarantine – 60 min. - Arrival time 6:45 pm: https://www.meetup.com/toronto-escape-rooms/events/316991727/ Lost Orbit – 60 min. - Arrival time 7 pm: https://www.meetup.com/toronto-escape-rooms/events/316991758/ The Devil's Chapel - 60 min. – Arrival time 7 pm: https://www.meetup.com/toronto-escape-rooms/events/316991797/ This page is specifically for The Sacrifice room. Here's the experience description, from the website: Re. The Sacrifice - 60 min. - Arrival time 6:40 pm: "What starts as an innocent dare to explore an abandoned house turns into a nightmare you'll never forget. The house isn't empty. It's a trap. Now you're part of a sick and twisted game where every challenge brings you deeper into the darkness. Work together, uncover the truth, and fight to escape before the house claims another victim. But be warnedβ€”not all groups make it out together. Will yours? How scary is The Sacrifice? SPOOKY! Fear is very subjective. So, it's difficult to say exactly how scary The Sacrifice is. But, the average player considers The Sacrifice to spooky- With multiple jump scares, tight spaces, moments of darkness, loud sounds, group separation, and a very immersive set and sound atmosphere. \*THIS EXPERIENCE REQUIRES PLAYERS TO CRAWL, CONTAINS TIGHT SPACES, MAY REQUIRE GROUP SEPARATION, CONTAINS STROBE / FLASHING LIGHTING EFFECTS / FOG / ANIMATRONICS / POP-UP SCARES / LOUD SOUNDS AND DARK SPACES." Important details about the escape rooms only: 1. We will book the spots for the escape room, so no planning needed! 2. This is a prepaid event, so you must pay the fee to join in. 3. Please arrive at the listed time. This is scheduled 15 mins ahead of the room time so that everyone can arrive, check in and sign waivers if applicable. 4. No shows or last minute cancellations after the booking has been paid for will not receive refunds due to the non-refundable nature of the escape room businesses. 5. If there is a cancellation/rescheduling of the event, you will receive refunds. 6. If you ever want to join an event but all of our rooms appear to be full/sold out, please message me. I can sometimes find a way to add a person or two; and if I hear from a lot of people, I may even be able to book a whole extra room for the bonus folks so they can join in the fun! 7. Please share the puzzles! We can be big groups thanks to your patronage, and sometimes escape rooms don't have multiple puzzles to work on at one time, so only a few people may be able to work on a given puzzle. Share the love! If you've been the leader on a few puzzles in a row, kindly step back and let someone else have a turn. 8. Check out their website for additional details: (https://readysetgoadventures.com/) Cheers!
