Toronto Virtual Reality Meetup

Curious about virtual reality, already exploring the metaverse, or thinking about buying your first headset? The Toronto Virtual Reality Meetup is a welcoming local community for VR users of all experience levels. Whether you use a Meta Quest, Apple Vision Pro, PlayStation VR2, HTC Vive, Valve Index, Pico, another PC VR headset, or simply explore VR-compatible experiences through your computer or mobile device, you are welcome to join us. You do not need to own a headset to attend. Meet other VR enthusiasts from across Toronto and discuss favourite apps, games, social spaces, creative tools, fitness experiences, productivity uses, and emerging technologies. Members can share recommendations and experiences from platforms such as VRChat, Meta Horizon Worlds, Bigscreen, Rec Room, SteamVR, Spatial, and other virtual worlds. Possible discussion topics include: • Favourite VR games, apps, and social experiences • Choosing a headset and getting started with VR • Virtual events, movies, fitness, art, music, and education • Creating avatars, worlds, games, and virtual content • Mixed reality and spatial computing • Meeting other Toronto VR users online and in person • Where virtual reality, augmented reality, and the metaverse may be heading The goal is to build a friendly Toronto-based community where beginners, casual users, developers, creators, and experienced VR explorers can exchange ideas, discover new experiences, and connect with others interested in the future of immersive technology. Bring your questions, recommendations, and curiosity. All levels and platforms are welcome.

Casual Board Games and Pub Social After

The Board Games event is a fun, sociable and charitable event We are a fun, friendly and kind group of people mostly in our 20s, 30s and 40s. Beginners are welcome! We are a very inclusive and social group and we teach people how to play games they have not played before :) We provide a variety of 40+ board games. The games usually take 5 or 10 minutes to learn and 30 to 60 minutes to play. Play in French: On the last Friday of the month, we're offering a table where the games are played in French. Anyone with an intermediate level of French who wants to practice while playing is welcome to join. Just ask for Philippe when you arrive. **Time** *Board Games Start time: 630pm - Board Games end time: 10pm *Eat / Drink/ Socialise at a nearby pub afterwards **Location** 30 Leeds St, Toronto, ON M6G 3R8 (Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Holy Protection) The entrance to the board game room is at the back of the Church. There is a sign on the door that says BOARD GAMES GROUP. Please use the map provided on the event page also. Payment **There are two ways to pay** **10 by Cash - coins are not accepted. Only bills.**** **11.55 by Debit/Credit card **Charity Donations** - This is a not-for-profit initiative. Revenue go towards covering costs of the event including venue, insurance marketing, refreshments and board games. Any surplus revenue is donated to charity **Food and drink** *Everyone will get cookies/candy for free - Cups will be provided for tap water *Bring your own food and drink. - Please do not bring CHIPS AND CRACKERS as they make a mess and are greasy ***ALCOHOL IS PROHIBITED AND WE HAVE A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY ON THIS - there are no second chances** Photos will be taken at the event and posted publicly for marketing purposes. We invite you to join us to play games and socialize! **There is now a cut off for RSVPs. If you do not RSVP for an event on meetup, we cannot guarantee that we will have a seat available.** CAFE POLICIES 1. There is an entry fee of $6/person + tax for this event If you do not RSVP for the even by noon on the day of the event the price will be $8+ tax. 2. As a cafe we offer coffee and other beverage options. We would greatly appreciate that you not bring outside drinks into the store 3. We serve our own for and snacks and do not permit outside food and drink, except from the other businesses in the plaza to support our neighbouring small businesses 4. Be considerate of other guests when selecting games from our library and limit the number of games you bring back to each table to two (2) at a time 5. You are welcome to bring your own games to use in the cafe, but LVLUP GAMES is not responsible for lost, stolen, or otherwise damaged games/components Also as a general meet up rule, to be considerate to other guests. Since we have limited seating, it is of the utmost importance that if you plan on attending you sign up for the event. It's an open world adventure with performers, escape room-style puzzles, and many different plot lines to discover! You can find new narratives to explore every time you visit, so if you've done Lost & Found before, you can come join us again! And if you want to check out Lost & Found after you come to the meetup, there will be lots to do if you visit again! STARTING LOCATION: Meet at the Gift Shop inside the Visitor Centre. I'm told it's easy to find as soon as you arrive. THE EXPERIENCE: Be prepared for walking throughout. The experience prioritizes story and puzzles, so this won't be an epic hike, but you will be walking around the grounds of Black Creek Pioneer Village throughout the experience. Rain or shine, we make our escape! Keep an eye on the weather and dress for comfort accordingly. This experience has room for LOTS of people, but they recommend groups of 2-4. Feel free to come with your own group, but also, this is a meetup, so be open to grouping with new friends! You can mix and mingle throughout the event - groups don't have to stick together for the entire adventure. You might want to start as 4 and then split off into two pairs, then pair up with another pair you see wandering around... and so on! \*\*IF THE EVENT APPEARS SOLD OUT, PLEASE JOIN THE WAITING LIST. Lost & Found: "Lost & Found is Canada's largest immersive open world puzzle adventure, where you get to wander freely through The Village at Black Creek, choose which characters to follow and which quests to take on. #### The villagers of Black Creek need your help! The creek has run dry, the mill has been abandoned, and people are leaving town. If you and your party can earn the villagers' trust and locate the hidden treasure, Black Creek just might have a chance. #### Meet eccentric villagers while exploring 43 historical buildings across 30 acres at The Village at Black Creek museum. Featuring authentic artifacts and sets from the 1800s. Immerse yourself in what life was like in simpler times. #### Do you love puzzles? Or do you prefer a scavenger hunt? Maybe a bit of romance? Some ghost busting? Mingle with characters and check out the job board to choose which quests fit your fancy.
