Come to Victory Point Cafe in Berkeley to playtest some games in development! This event is twice a month, 1st Wednesdays and 3rd Mondays, and exists as two separate listings on our meetup. This is a relaxed chance to try new board / card / tabletop games, get feedback on your own prototypes, and learn about the game industry. Designers and interested players welcome, no experience needed. Please be courteous to other designers and stay to test their games if you are bringing your own prototype to be tested. Drop in and out any time and participate as much as you'd like, and just observing is fine too. RSVPing is appreciated but not required. Organizers: Glenn and Velgus * COST - Participants may pay the regular $12/person reserved gaming fee or waive it by buying at least two menu items from the cafe. Pay or start a tab at the front counter upon entering. * PARKING - Street meters should be free from 6pm onwards. Hey guys, San Francisco is hosting the 2026 Pokemon Championships. I really have no idea how big this event will be... Pokemon has been blowing up a ton lately and there are several "ticketed" events you can look into if you're more serious about Pokemon. Overall though this is just a hangout for people with similar interests. We'll be wandering and probably grab a drink/bite here and there around the area. Please don't come out with huge expectations. This will be chiller meetup. We'll meet up at a local Vietnamese Cafe (there's Matcha across the street if that's more your jam). We'll gather and walk over near Moscone where the tournament (and other festivities) are being held. I'm personally trying to offload something like $20k worth of cards so I may spend some time discussing some sales with vendors (hopefully there are some posted up). If you're just looking for something to do you're welcome to tag along. Novela is hosted an "afterparty" for the tournament where we may end up grabbing a drink later in the evening. Welcome to the Golden Gate Gamemakers' board game playtesting event at Dogpatch Games in San Francisco! We meet last Thursdays 6pm-10pm. We are a community of tabletop game designers & board game fanatics who meet monthly at Dogpatch Games (1095 Tennessee St. in San Francisco's Dogpatch district) to playtest each other's prototypes, provide feedback, help each other get published, and most importantly... have fun! Whether you’re game is days away from Kickstarter, or just ideas on a napkin, or you just want to hangout and playtest other prototypes (we LOVE playtesters!)…all are welcome! A few notes if this is your first time joining us: \- Our goal is to provide a community around creating new games\. Every designer will get their prototype to the table\. We give everyone the chance to play games and get their game played\. \- Each designer gets equal time\, which is about one hour\. This includes rules explanations\, gameplay\, and time for feedback\. \- Please arrive on time if you have a game to playtest\. At the beginning of the night each designer will pitch their game to the group\, then breakout into smaller groups\. If you arrive and playtesting has already begun\, we will try to accommodate you later in the evening\. \- If your game requires more than one hour\, or requires a player count of 6 or more\, please contact us ahead of time so we can make arrangements\. \- Please stay for as long as you can to playtest others’ games\. \- When you arrive\, please check in with the cashier and inform them you’re with the San Francisco Board Game Designers\. **How does a TennisSF Doubles Season / League run?** We try to run Mixed Doubles Divisions and Non-Mixed Doubles divisions for every season that we kick off. When we don't alway succeed we kick off one large doubles division instead. **We are bringing back Doubles Teammate matching** After taking a year off from connecting players with a Doubles Teammate, we're going to get back to doing it. All teammate matching is done ON KICKOFF DAY so we can have the highest chance of making strong teammate connections. This service will cost $24.95. Note that the league does not initiate COVID precaution rules but as always expects players to be respectful of each other and not play if COVID compromised. **Kickoff Day - Sept. 1st** The **start day** of the season, all the teams are sent a **kickoff email** that contains important information about the league, the link where your league standings and other team contact information is. We **guarantee** 6 teams at your around your teams level, but have been averaging closer to 10+ teams in most cities. The number of different levels we run is solely based upon the number of teams enrolled for the league kickoff. Typically we are trying to run a Lev A Doubles 3.5-4.0+, Lev B Doubles 2.5-3.5, Lev A Mixed Doubles 3.5-4.0+, Lev B Mixed Doubles 2.5-3.5: in most cities. **Your Task - Flexible Scheduling** After this kickoff email is sent, it is the **captain's task to communicate with other captains**. Captains should work with their partners and the other captains to find an agreeable time and location to play the match. While TennisSF.com doesn't mandate your playing schedule, it is recommended that teams schedule at least one match per week. We allow teams to play 1 rematch per season. The regular season is all about playing as much as you can. **Where to Play?** Play at your local free tennis courts, tennis parks, condo courts or tennis clubs. The league strongly suggests that players jointly try to pick a tennis court location convenient to both. We provide an extensive list of [tennis courts](https://www.tennissf.com/TennisCourts), including # of courts, lighting, hitting walls, etc. We strive to keep this list up-to-date. TennisSF.com sets up a must play dates to push players out on the courts.
