The SF Go Club is the best place to play Go in the SF Bay Area and the oldest Go club in North America. Started in the 1880s by Japanese sailors looking to play Go, it established itself as an official club in 1935 and incorporated as a non-profit in 1984. The club has a rich community of members and a wonderful club-room filled with equipment, both for playing and teaching. **The 17th Annual Bar-B-Qchre in Golden Gate Park has been officially scheduled for Oct 17, 2026!** While we normally host this event the 2nd full weekend in October(i.e. the weekend after Hardly Strictly), there is scheduling conflict this year, so it's getting pushed out a week to Saturday October 17th. Yosemite - Easy Backpacking to May Lake and Camping

Easy overnight backpacking to a scenic, alpine May lake in Upper Yosemite on Saturday. **Epic campsite next to an alpine lake, overlooking the granite walls and Mt Hoffman, close to some fun hiking trails:). Prior backpacking or camping experience is required for this trip. I may join later in the afternoon or skip this altogether, so people need to be self-sufficient as well as team player :)** If anyone wants to camp in the Yosemite Valley on Friday, you'll have access to the backpackers' campground with this permit. $8 pp Please respond to all the questions when you RSVP and I'll shortlist people for the lottery based on those who meet the pre-reqs. Prior camping experience is highly recommended. Also, it can get cold at higher elevations - 8000' to 9000' at our camping and backpacking spot. Will reach out to shortlisted people with next steps. **Your spot is confirmed after you confirm via venmo/zelle** and there's no refund unless the trip is cancelled, so please commit accordingly. # Chess Sundays at Its Your Move Games **We host a Chess Sundays here at Its Your Move every Sunday from 2-6pm.** It is a casual atmosphere for players of all levels. We play here with and without a clock on tournament style boards. We ask for a $5 table fee which lasts for the whole day, you can pay in [advance](http://www.itsyourmoveoakland.com/web-store-1) or at the door. Players are welcome to use our limited boards, (please bring your own clock and board if you have one). Food and drink is allowed. Every Sunday we also host a **Beginning group chess lesson** from noon to 1pm (first one free- after that $10) and an **Intermediate chess group chess lesson** from 1-2pm for $15. Every Wednesday we host a youth drop in chess after school program. Best for ages 6 through 16 for beginning and intermediate players.
