East Bay Chronic Pain & Illness Peer Support Group Meetup

**About us:** The Bay Area Chronic Pain & Illness Peer Support Group is a friendly, unstructured, in-person peer support group for anybody 18+ who lives with chronic pain, illness(es), invisible disabilities, and any type of mental health experiences. The group is a casual safe space to hang out, talk about our lives, share coping strategies, form friendships, create community, and get support. **Location:** 2727 California Street, Berkeley, CA 94703 Look for a corner gallery in a residential neighborhood! **Accessibility Info:** * The meeting space is in a wheelchair accessible gallery. * There are bathrooms accessible via ramp within the gallery. * The lighting is relatively gentle, though of course feel free to bring hats, sunglasses to adjust! * Seating provided by the gallery are wooden, foldout chairs. If a metal foldout chair would be preferable, let me know, and I'll try to procure some! * Feel free to bring heating pads, yoga mats, cooling pads, to make yourself as comfortable as possible! \*\*\*Please refrain from wearing anything scented, including lotion, dry-cleaned clothes, etc. This is to ensure that the group is safe for people with chemical sensitivities.\*\*\* **Scheduling Info: While this group runs every other week, there are a few dates when the space will not be available. Slow down and handwrite a letter, work on journaling, or just hang out with us over a cozy pot of tea! Free stationery, stamps, stickers, and envelopes will be provided, just show up and say hi! Volleyball. Training and Playing.

Ocean Beach Volleyball Meetup is a training-and-play event for players who want to get better, not just jump straight into games. Everyone starts with three short phases of VBX Volleyball training before open play. VBX is a no-net training system that helps players improve faster by giving them more touches, more rallies, and more chances to read, move, pass, set, and attack in game-like situations. After the VBX warm-up and skill-building phases, players move onto the nets for open play. As the group keeps improving, we’ll also set up more courts geared toward doubles play for players who want a faster, more competitive challenge. The 48 Hill challenge (in 7 sections)

SAN FRANCISCO’S 48 HILLS — WALK #1 OF 7 The Original City: Rincon → Nob → Russian → Telegraph Hill Let’s Discover San Francisco one hill at a time. San Francisco is famous for its hills—but there are a lot more than the famous seven. By one count, 48 named hills rise across the city, each with its own history, neighborhoods, views, stairways, hidden corners, and stories. So we’re going to walk them. This is Walk #1 in a new 7-part San Francisco Urban Explorers series that will take us across all 48 hills—one section of the city at a time. We begin where San Francisco itself began to take shape: The Original City. Starting near Rincon Hill, we’ll make our way through the heart of downtown and climb Nob Hill, Russian Hill, and Telegraph Hill, finishing at one of San Francisco’s great landmarks, Coit Tower. Along the way we’ll pass through and explore places including Union Square, Grace Cathedral and Huntington Park, Macondray Lane, Lombard Street, and the Greenwich/Filbert Steps—with plenty of lesser-known discoveries in between. As always, this isn’t just about getting from point A to point B. We’ll slow down enough to notice the layers of San Francisco: its history, architecture, changing neighborhoods, hidden pathways, spectacular views, and the stories underneath our feet. The 48 Hills series will consist of 7 separate walks. Join us for one, several, or take on the challenge of walking all seven and experiencing San Francisco from the ground up. Bring comfortable shoes, water, layers, curiosity—and be ready for hills. After all, this is San Francisco.
