Global Meetup & Karaoke Night! 🌍🎤 While we usually gather at a&o Friedrichshain, we're excited to host our very first event at a&o Berlin HBF, a special kickoff night bringing travelers and locals together in a brand-new space. Whether you're flying solo, exploring the city, or simply looking to expand your circle, this is the perfect place to connect. Here's what awaits you at our new HBF location: * Global Connections: Meet, chat, and play with friendly people from around the world in a warm, relaxed atmosphere. * Mic & Games: Grab the mic for some fun karaoke, join icebreaker challenges, and win fun prizes (participation is entirely optional!). * Good Vibes & Drinks: Enjoy cocktails, bar snacks, and great music in a lively, no-pressure setting. * RSVP & Seating: There's no limit on sign-ups, but we request you to RSVP; an accurate headcount helps us coordinate seating with the venue so everyone has a cozy spot. When & Where: 📅 Friday, 24.07 – a&o Berlin HBF (7:00 PM – 10:00 PM) – Our first time here! How to find us at Berlin HBF (Shortcut Path): When arriving at Berlin Central Station, skip the long detour along Lehrter Straße! You can take a much quicker walking shortcut: 1. Head out of the station and cross over to Minna-Cauer-Straße. 1. Cut straight through the open park area alongside the Geschichtspark Zellengefängnis Moabit. 1. Follow the path directly to the entrance of the hostel on Lehrter Straße. It cuts the walk down significantly! 🎟️ Free entry – just bring your good mood. Let's make our HBF debut unforgettable! ☺️ PS: If you get lost, just look for Alice— she's the a&o event coordinator and will point you in the right direction.

🎉 2nd Anniversary Picnic – Two Fantastic Folding Years 🧺

In late August 2024, a tiny Berlin origami meetup quietly came to life... Since then, hundreds of folds, chats, experiments, collaborations, and spontaneous moments later… here we are marching towards our **SECOND anniversary** already!! 🤩 To mark this occasion, we are gonna throw a relaxed summer celebration at **Volkspark Friedrichshain**, powered by sunshine, blankets, snacks and good vibes!! 🧺☀️ The final location is not yet finalised, but the spirit of the day is simply bringing people together and celebrating the past two years together! 🤗 A simple agenda for your reference: 1. **Bring and share whatever you like** – food, drinks, cutlery, music gears, card games, or extra paper. No rules – the sky is the limit! 2. **Gather and set up a cozy picnic spot together** – if you own a picnic blanket, please bring one along! 3. **A moment to look back & ahead** – community storytelling, memories and reflections, hopes for the year ahead (surprises and chaos might be included, but that's part of the fun, right? 👀) 4. **(Optional) Origami show time** – bring your favorite model, tell us the story behind it, share folding tips and/or replicas with the group! And truly: thank you for helping shape this community into such a welcoming, creative, and alive little corner of Berlin. Every person who attended an event, taught a fold, hosted a meetup, helped newcomers, or simply spent an afternoon folding with us became part of this story. More details coming soon — but for now, save some space in your calendar for a very special summer gathering 🥳 Warm greetings to each and everyone of you, Shiyi

Try out Japanese calligraphy with us! Everything you need is ready, just come and enjoy. The tradition of calligraphy was first brought to Japan from China in the 6th century. The style and technique, unique to Japan, later evolved and was practiced by the samurai, the nobility and the general public. We will practice different types of kanji and try to transform them into artistic works, which you can of course take home with you. I hope you have fun and discover new Japanese art! 書道のワークショップを開催します。 皆さんと楽しく練習して、最後には作品が作れればと思っています。 道具もすべてこちらで準備していますのでぜひご参加ください!
