Book Bedazzle & Book Swap Day ✨🪩📚

Book Club's Second event will be a Book Bedazzling craft day with an optional book swap! What to bring: \- 1 book you would like to bedazzle -$25 is the craft fee per person, to cover materials, this can be paid upon arrival by Zelle, PayPal, or cash. \*Optional\* 1-3 books you no longer want that you would like to swap for other books. Most books will be used, just make sure they are not too damaged for others to enjoy. There will be a table for everyone to put their book(s) on that they no longer want, & you can take home however many books you bring for this. -Feel free to stop by just for the book swap!! Please do not RSVP here if you will not be participating in the craft, and just coming to trade books. -Trying out a new location just for this event, it will be held at the Hilliard Library, Meeting room 2A. -Please update your RSVP if you no longer plan to go but are marked as attending.

Contra dance with Big Scioty on Sept. 5 - First Congregational Church

**Caller: River Abel** **Band: Raven & Goose** **Big Scioty Contra Dance** **First Congregational Church, 444 E. Broad St., Columbus 43215** WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor. Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner. Cost is $10.00 adults, $5.00 ages 12-26. Under 12 free. Free parking in church lot. The hosts, meditators and Kriya Yoga initiates for over 50 years, are direct disciples of Yogacharya J. Oliver Black one of Paramahansa Yogananda's most advanced male disciples. He is the founder of Golden Lotus, Inc., which owns & operates 'Song of the Morning' an 800 acre Yoga Retreat Northest of Gaylord, MI on the Pigeon River. Paramahansa Yogananda founded Self Realization Fellowship, headquartered in Los Angeles, CA and is the author of the Spritual Classic, 'Autobiography of a Yogi.'

The Completely Series - (P.M.) Gallery Hop/Short North - Field Shoot

Gallery Hop / Short North Photo walk and street shooting. OSU is playing Ball State at home at 12:30 pm so many fans may come to the Short North to celebrate. We typically walk North on one side of the street under we reach Standard Hall where we stop for a break...can you say food and drink?....and then make our way back south on the other side of the street. These events on the schedule are to serve three purposes: 1. These will serve as field shoots targeted at The Completely 2. Series homework. Generally, each of these shoots will focus on the homework assigned in the two prior weeks. So locations and topics will be picked to match those expectations. 3. Additionally, these events are to serve as placeholders for TIME OF DAY. They are intended to be modified as needed to capture SUNSET and/or EVENING light. They will likely be modified to time out for the IDEAL light on that day, at that location. EXPECT THEM TO BE MODIFIED as the time of year changes and/or schedule conflicts occur. But THERE WILL BE at least one evening shoot per month. 4. Lastly, they are also to serve as semi-monthly evening shoots for the group as a whole. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE IN THE COMPLETELY SERIES to attend any of these morning field shoots. Locations and specifics will be updated as the event date approaches.
