In the digital age💻📡📱, do you still like getting a physical book to read? Where do you buy them? Amazon? Waterstone? Blackstone? How about join us for a bookshop crawl, let's try to find some hidden gems of independent bookshops. (Or just tag along for a chat😁) Find out more book shops to try, this time we will be going to further north in London than usual. We will meet at Camden Town tube station, then walk along mostly along the main road to Tufnell Park station. There will be 4 book shops in total, never been to most of them, so it will be some new experience for me as well. Upon finishing, we can find somewhere to sit and chat about books. The time is just a guidance, some shops take longer and some are less. If you ever want to stay in one shop for longer (I know, been there, done that😂) feel free to do so, you can join us at other shops. (See itinerary below) Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with any of the shops, so you are not obliged to buy any books, just get whatever you like. *** 📚💃🏼 📖💃🏿☕️ ITINERARY ☕️💃🏾🍷💃🏻🍴📚 Looking to do one near Cutty Sark in Greenwich, not too many bookshops, so probably will be an hour one overall for the shops. We will all meet up at Cutty Sark DLR Station. Don't worry if you are late, join us in along the walks. Then the tour shall begin! 1: Greenwich Book Time Address: 277 Greenwich High Rd, London SE10 8NB 2: Rare Books & Curios Address: 8 Greenwich Market, London SE10 9HZ 3: Oxfam Bookshop Address: 2 College Approach, London SE10 9HY 4: Waterstones Address: 51 Greenwich Church St, London SE10 9BL \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- Wow, you made it, hopefully you have found some books that will make you happy🎈🎉✨. For people who likes to have more socials or talk more about books (or just to show off your purchases😆), we can find some place for a cup of coffee or a late lunch.

Do you have spare books lying around your home? Do you want to read new interesting books for free while socializing with interesting people? This is the event for you. We will enjoy nice drinks and snacks together at a beautiful lounge bar in London. You can bring your books and exchange them with whoever has the books you want to read. Since this is a Science and Philosophy book club, it would be great for you to bring non-fiction books that are insightful and thought-provoking. If you want to bring fiction books that are scientifically or philosophically insightful, feel free to bring those as well. Since it is a social event, I encourage everyone to make deep meaningful conversations and make new friends. You can come alone or bring your friends with you. If you come alone, there is no need to be shy or scared. I will welcome you and introduce you to cool interesting people to speak with. Also feel free to come even if you forget to bring any books.

THURSDAY Y2K THRIFTING SOCIAL

THURSDAY Y2K THRIFTING SOCIAL

Thu, Aug 6, 4:00 PM
From London Thrift Network

Thrifting on a Thursday - bosh. Free entry. Vintage by weight, not by hype. We fill the room with hand-picked pieces from our warehouse, you dig, you weigh, you leave with something nobody else has. Everything is £15/kg. That's roughly 3 to 4 pieces per kilo depending on what you grab. Denim's heavy, silk shirts aren't. Pick accordingly. Card or cash on the night. What's in the racks: Levi's and Wrangler denim, 90s and Y2K sportswear, leather jackets, knitwear, band tees, workwear, and a rail of designer and rare pieces priced individually. Absolutely massive warehouse. **How it works:** Meet one of our reps at the door. We'll group you up with everyone arriving around the same time and take you round together, so you're not standing there wondering where to start. First time thrifting or you've been doing it for years, doesn't matter. The reps know what's in every rack and will actually help you find your size. Doors 17:00, racks close at 20:00. Come early for first pick, come late if you like a bargain and don't mind a picked-over rail. Then we're straight to the pub. Everyone's welcome, no cost, no pressure. Half the point of this is meeting people who care about the same stuff. Bring what you found and show it off. Bring a tote bag. Bring a mate. Sizes run XS to XXL but stock is one-of-one, so nothing is guaranteed. Free to attend, just RSVP so we know how many reps to have on the door.
