Watercolour workshop with a professional painter for beginners

Fri, Oct 30, 6:00 PM
From Barcelona Painting Workshops
4.9

We organise a watercolour workshop for beginners; The teacher is an advanced graphic designer and painter Tiana Diakova, whose works you can check on Instagram: @diakova_art. The maximum amount of people is 10 so the teacher will be able to guide every person. The workshop is adapted to a beginner's level (every time people who never painted before are surprised with the result they achieve!) But also the process will be interesting for those who draw or paint already. For architects, designers, and illustrators it's a good way to discover a new technique and material and make new contacts) All materials are included so there is no need to bring anything. The process will take 2-2,5 hours. Important: Your subscription is confirmed after you make a payment following this link: https://mauicowork.com/watercolour-painting-with-tatiana/ Welcome to our evening of creativity in the atmospheric studio with beach vibes:)

Financial Independence Pub Quiz Night!

Financial Independence Pub Quiz Night!

Thu, Nov 5, 6:00 PM
From Financial Independence (FIRE) Meetup Group
4.8

Maybe you want to save more, earn more, travel more, buy a home someday, start a side hustle, feel less stressed about spending, or simply understand what the hell is actually happening with your money. This meetup is for people who want to **feel more confident with money and have more choices in life** — without needing to be a finance expert. This is a welcoming space for those who are building their careers and financial lives and want to learn alongside other people in the same boat. This week's meet up will be a fun, interactive, group based quiz to help you better understand the fundamentals of managing your finances. To make it even more fun, there will be some prizes! After the quiz we will have some discussion topics and networking. ### What to Expect **Learn** We’ll break down a different money topic each time — from spending and saving to earning more, understanding the economy, investing and the psychology behind our financial decisions. **Think** You’ll get the chance to look at your own situation, challenge some assumptions and consider what you actually want your money and your life to look like. **Do** This isn't just theory. We’ll use simple exercises, scenarios and practical tools to help turn ideas into something you can apply to your own life. **Connect** Meet other curious, ambitious people who are figuring this stuff out too. Share experiences, ideas and lessons without the pressure to have all the answers. **Take something away** Every session finishes with a few practical takeaways and an action — something small you can actually do after you leave. ### Who is it for? Anyone working and earning money and starting to think more seriously about their future — but aren't quite sure what you're doing yet financially. Location & Logistics * **Where:** Icon Hotel - Either the Biblioteca Area or on the terrace by the pool - ask at the Bar. Carrer de Roger de Llúria, 21 * **When:** Every Thursday from 7-9pm * **Cost:** 7€, paid to Icon Hotel, which includes your first drink. Please note that everyone must pay this as it allows us access to the hotel facilities. Language note: This event will be in English though all languages are welcome to join. About the organizer: My name is Andrew, I'm American working in education and calling Barcelona home for nearly 10 years. Well on my way to financial independence, my goal is to inspire, support and connect others that are ready to take actions to build their dream lives. 👋 How to find us Go into the Icon hotel, turn right and head toward the back. On your right there is a small bar where you need to pay the 7€ and get your drink. We may be at the 'Biblioteca' or on the terrace by the swimming pool outside, so bring a jacket. Ask at the front bar where we are. *Space is limited by the venue's capacity, so please update your RSVP if your plans change!* **Disclaimer:** This meetup is for general educational purposes only and does not constitute financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Workshop: Children's Speech & Language Consultations with Kate Greco

Workshop: Children's Speech & Language Consultations with Kate Greco

Sat, Oct 31, 10:30 AM
From Backstory English Bookshop - Events
4.7

Come in for a conversation with Kate Greco, a pediatric speech and language specialist, for a 15-minute one-on-one consultation about your child's English speech, language progress and individual needs. Children of all ages are welcome. Approx. 8 families will be attended over the course of 2 hours. Bring your questions about: * How your child says sounds and words, and how clearly others understand them * How your child understands and uses their words to communicate their wants and needs * Anything else about speech and language development that has been on your mind You will leave with practical ideas to try at home and a clear sense of whether a next step is worth taking. These chats are informational and supportive, not formal evaluations. **A note on multilingualism** Many kids in Barcelona are growing up with Catalan, Spanish, English and other languages, and that is very welcome here. Your child does not need to be a native English speaker to take part in this event. These consultations will focus on the English language, and Kate will keep your child's other languages in mind when talking through what is typical for multilingual speech and language development and what might deserve a closer look. **Kate (Kaitlin) Greco** is a pediatric speech-language specialist, originally from the U.S. and now based in Barcelona. She works with English-speaking and multilingual children, supporting speech and language development, literacy skills, and speaking fluency. With nearly ten years of experience, Kate brings a playful, child-centered approach to her work and believes that every child deserves to communicate confidently.
