FORGE Founders Walk & Coffee | Albert Park 5K
Fri, Jul 24, 11:00 PM**Good coffee. A 5k walk. Better company.** FORGE is a social club for founders and operators actively building real businesses - and this is our very first event. We’re meeting at **9am at Space Cafe on Fitzroy Street** to grab a coffee before heading out for a relaxed 5k walk around Albert Park Lake. Along the way, we’ll mix things up a few times so you get the chance to meet and chat with plenty of people, without the awkwardness of walking into a room and trying to “network”. After the walk, we’ll finish back at Space Cafe, where anyone who wants to can stick around for brunch. ***Who's it for?*** People who are **actively building and running businesses** and want to meet others who understand the highs, lows and occasional chaos that comes with it. You don’t need to be running a huge company. But you should be in the arena; building, operating and taking your business seriously. This probably *isn’t* the right event if you’re looking for a job, exploring your first business idea, or primarily hoping to pitch or sell your services. **Come to meet peers, not prospects.** ***What to expect*** ☕ Grab a coffee 🚶 A relaxed 5k walk around Albert Park Lake 👋 Plenty of opportunities to meet different founders and operators 🥐 Optional brunch afterwards 🚫 No pitches, panels, presentations or awkward networking Just good people, real businesses and conversations worth having. **Build boldly. Play fully.** See you there 👋

🌿✨ Singles, Camberwell Markets - Anniversary Trail Walk - 10km🌿✨
Sun, Jul 26, 1:00 AM🌿✨ **The** **Singles** **Only, Camberwell Market's Beuwse, Anniversary Trail walk to East Malvern Train Station** Camberwell Train Station → Camberwell Market's & Lunch→ East Malvern via the Anniversary Trail Saunday 26th July, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM **Ages: 30–55** | Singles only | No married or seperated people | New couples maybe… if they’re very new **People**: Max 20 **Meet**: Outside the Camberwwll railway station at 11 a.m for a 11.15 am start. On the other side of the large overpass towards Camberwell Shops and the market. At the junction of the overpass and the footpath **Cost**: $0... yes nothing This is Part 2 of the Great anniversary trail walk and exploration. In Part 1 we went from Fairfield train station to Camberwell **💘The** **Vibe** A flirty, whimsical winter wander for singles only — Well si pend an hour first wandering the Camberwell market, the lovely bohemian and chaotic vibe and then reconfigure have a lunch) snack break and recharged continent out walk, it's the kind of gentle, slow‑burn social chemistry that happens when you mix crisp air, shared adventure, and a trail that practically invites conversation. **Please** ***note***: **This*** **event*** ***is*** **waitlisted**. I want a balanced gender mix, i.e even numbers of girls and guys. I have a creep code operating and event expectations around no shows, read on for how that works. **Couples** are welcome only if they’re very new (the kind where you’re still pretending you don’t stalk each other’s Instagram stories). **Married** **people**: this one isn’t for you. We’re keeping the energy light, open, and romantically unencumbered. This event will be waitlisted to help maintain a roughly balanced gender mix — not a perfect science, but enough to keep the social ecosystem feeling fair and fun. 🚶♀️👁️ **The** **Route** A deliciously meandering approximately 10 km journey from Camberwell Railway Station to East Malvern Railway Station, following the Anniversary Trail — a path built for bicycles but secretly perfect for flirty winter walking. **Detail here**: [https://www.railtrails.org.au/trails/outer-circle-rail-trail/](https://www.railtrails.org.au/trails/outer-circle-rail-trail/) **Expect**: Leafy suburban pockets with “I could live here” energy Sweeping shared paths ideal for side‑by‑side banter Hidden corners of the middle suburbs that feel like your own private discovery An early Margret want and lunch stop at Camberwell — , hippy clothes, bric a beach and bargains, warm food, warm hands, warmer conversations. You can exit the walk at any point and catch. train etc back into the city, I think a train line is only a short distance from the actual anniversary trail. We finish at a café/pub in East Malvern, where the group can thaw out, mingle, and see which conversations want to keep going. **🧣Winter** **Wisdom &** **What** **to** **Bring** - Comfortable walking shoes (your feet will thank you) - Snacks + water - Warm layers — it’s winter, and Melbourne weather loves drama - A playful, open attitude - A willingness to chat with strangers who ight not stay strangers **🚶♀️Fitness** **and** **etiquette** I like walking at a relaxed pace around 4+km/hr It's a long walk, so make sure you can keep up and can make the distance People who speed ahead aren't really welcome, find a speed walking group instead. If you are too slow and dawdle you might be asked to leave, same goes with inappropriate behaviour. Do not turn up un announced and not on the guest list, you will be asked to leave., Check ins will be performed. No shows will likely be removed from the group. If you can't make it take yourself off the going list 💘 **Flirtation** **Guidelines** This is a social event, not a pressure cooker.Don’t be pushy about phone numbers — let the moment offer itself If the vibe is mutual, go for it Become a regular — I’ll be testing this format over 3–4 events You’ll likely see the same lovely humans again at future singles nights/events or Eat Drink Dance “open” events The goal is to build a small, recurring ecosystem where people feel comfortable, familiar, and relaxed enough to be themselves. **👥Waitlist & Gender Ratios** To keep things balanced and comfortable: Event capped at max 30 people to test interest, Generally guys admitted only after a woman registers (to maintain ratios) at my discretion until the format matures. If you become a regular I'm not so discriminating as long as you behave yourself. **💁♀️ Female Privilege** — Early Bird Advantage If a woman messages the organiser after being added to “Going,” she may nominate someone from the guys waitlist — provided his communication fits the event’s social expectations. Discretion is assured👍 This means guys may be delayed entry. Women can be a little flaky (we love them anyway), so I may accept 1–2 extra **🧭The Creep** **Code** A refined social compass keeps the vibe safe, fun, and drama‑free. So: No married/seperated individuals or those already coupled up (generally) No Tinder Swindler‑style minglers **Guys**: **Please Take Special Note** - Must have a clear face photo (no sunglasses, no blurry shadows, no “mysterious man in witness protection”) - No wide shots taken from a distance where you can't be identified. - No yacht/car/jet flexing — if your profile screams “crypto‑adjacent”, you will be gently declined. - If you are declined, update your profile photo to something less creepy. **Girls**: No restrictions — privacy and safety first” ⚠️ **SMAL EVENT EXPECTATIONS ⚠️** **⏰Late Arrivals** **The event starts on time.** - More than 15 minutes late without communication = No‑show - More than 30 minutes late (even with communication) = Not admitted = No Show - We do not endlessly wait at meeting points. If you’re late, you must find the group yourself. - Messages are not monitored after 30 minutes. - This protects the experience for people who arrive on time **👻 No‑Shows** No‑shows block waitlisted people from attending and disrupt small-group events. - Remove yourself at least 24 hours before the event. - No‑shows will likely be removed and blocked from the group. - Last‑minute cancellations (“flaking”) may also result in group removal, especially when there is a waitlist. 👀 **Attending** **Without** **Being** **on** **the** **Going** **List** - This is a security issue. - **Do** **NOT** **turn** **up** **unannounced**. - If you’re not on the Going list and haven’t arranged it with the organiser beforehand, you will be asked to leave. - Event check‑ins are performed. **🌱Why** **This** **Event** **Exists** A few people have asked me to run something for singles, and Meetup is already full of solo attendees. Dating apps feel like a minefield, and IRL conversations tend to be and are rare and sometimes awkward. So this is an experiment — a soft‑launch into a more human, more organic way of meeting people for singles..

Every extra seat means another person gets to join. Fewer cars, easier logistics, and a more social, fun start to the day. Carpooling is also a great way to meet people before the hike even begins, share a few laughs, get to know each other, and arrive together. It’s simple, social, and one of the best parts of the experience 🌿 💡 Carpool tickets are offered at a discounted price to encourage drivers to offer seats and make the hikes accessible for everyone. \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- 👉 **For Drivers** If you’ve got spare seats, offering a lift makes a big difference. It helps others join, reduces parking stress and makes the ride more enjoyable from the start. 👉 **For Passengers** Passengers are to contact drivers directly using the details provided in the carpool sheet (linked at the top of the description). The sheet shows information from carpooler tickets (Drivers Offering Seats). ✨ **Best practice:** Try to organise your ride before purchasing a ticket to avoid last-minute stress. **Please note:** Drivers and passengers should stick to the arrangements they make. We do not recommend swapping drivers or cars after you’ve agreed on a ride. If you do decide to change, please make sure all parties are clearly informed and agree to avoid confusion. If a driver forgets, gets mixed up, or doesn’t pick you up, Social Hikes Australia (and your driver) are **not liable** for any inconvenience caused. For this reason, it is best to keep things simple with the driver you first arranged with. ⚠️ **Important Notes** * Please stick with the carpool arrangement you agree on. * Avoid swapping drivers unless everyone is clearly informed and agrees. * Petrol, parking, and other costs are not included in the ticket price. These should be agreed upon directly between the driver and passengers. * Social Hikes Australia is not responsible for any issues with private carpool arrangements. 📍 **Pick-Up Info** Drivers will share their preferred pick-up locations, such as major CBD train stations like Parliament, Richmond, South Yarra, Southern Cross, or North Melbourne. \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- **🤩 Why Join?** 🌟 Make new friends in a relaxed, casual way. 🌟Enjoy nature and fresh air while meeting like-minded people your age 🌟Friendly vibes full of laughs, chats and good times guaranteed 🌟You never know. Slippery trails, flooding, and poor visibility are no fun or safe. We’ll also reschedule for thunderstorms or if trails are still soaked from heavy rain the days before.
