Spring is here, and the foothills are alive with the sights and sounds of local and migratory birds. Join us for another beautiful spring evening of walking and bird watching in Hahamongna Park, a local hotspot where Acorn Woodpeckers, Red Tailed Hawks, Phainopeplas, Blue Grey Gnatcatchers, Hooded Orioles, Western and Cassin's Kingbirds, Allen's and Anna's Hummingbirds, Yellow Rumped Warblers, and Yellow Warblers may be seen. Due to recent unusually warm weather, we don't know what we'll see this time, but we're curious to find out. We'll walk at a leisurely pace, stopping to listen and see birds along the way, for 2 miles round trip with minimal elevation gain and a few small hill climbs. Because this is a dry arroyo, it is very dusty in places. Come enjoy the morning air and your local wetland under the guidance of our trained naturalists. Covid-19 protocols will be followed. LA Kinky Weirdos is a munch that started as a Discord server for socially distant kinksters. Since we've been hosting the munch, so much has changed; about the world, and the scene. However, LA Kinky Weirdos is dedicated to holding a space in Los Angeles for diverse kinksters of all shapes, sizes and preferences. If you resonate with our name, you're right at home! We aim to be a community for people looking for community within the BDSM and ENM communities of LA. Over the years, many people have met partners, made friends and formed long term bonds! Munches are all about maintaining connections and forging new ones. This is not a play party and we cannot guarantee that you’ll meet new play partners, but you will certainly meet likeminded individuals and many people have found their partners and friends through this munch. **Moderate hike to a vista in the park (\~4 to 5 miles RT, \~1100 ft elevation gain); bring a food item to share or for yourself.** Leashed well-mannered dogs welcome. **Gather at 6:45pm and sign waiver sheets; hike begins at 7pm and lasts around 2 1/2 hours.**(Waiver form is separate from those used for the regular evening hikes.) No beginners or tigers, please. (Tigers are super-fast hikers who wouldn't be satisfied with a moderate pace.) For those familiar with our Tuesday/Thursday evening hikes, the socially-paced hike will be similar to a level 2 or 3. There are usually between 10 and 25 hikers on the Moonlit hikes; not everyone RSVPs on Meetup. **What to bring:** Water, a light jacket in case it gets cold, and a food item to share or for yourself. Hiking boots/shoes are recommended. Flashlights are optional; many leaders discourage their use except in emergencies. (If used, colored lenses such as red help preserve others' night vision). Drive through the lot and along the road that leaves the opposite corner. You’ll soon come to lot #2, which is lit. The Sierra Club meets at the far (north) end of the lot, by the stone steps. Going north on the 5 from Downtown LA, you can also get off at the Griffith Park exit and take Crystal Springs going north, following the directions above. Alright Meetup people, if you’re into hiking to unusual spots or have never seen these rock formations in person then this hike is for you. Let’s hike around the Vasquez Rocks out in Santa Clarita.
