From Berlin bike adventures

After-work bike ride: Ostkreuz → Köpenick and back. Shake off the workday with a relaxed evening ride to Köpenick. We'll cycle there, walk by the river, and stop at Freiheit Fünfzehn — a lovely summer garden where we can grab a snack or drink, chat, and relax. Then we head back via a different route. Any bike type works. No special experience needed - just show up and enjoy the ride Köpenick is a small town on the Spree. It's a great spot to walk along the river, explore the historic old town, catch a film at the outdoor cinema, or just have a beer at one of the riverside beer gardens. The ride itself is scenic too — you'll cycle through the beautiful Treptower Park and pass some atmospheric abandoned industrial sites. • Start & End: S-Bahn Ostkreuz • Distance: \~24 km (12 km each way) • Terrain: Flat, paved bike paths • Pace: The one you are comfortable with — we are here to relax after work, it's not a race • Recommended to bring: water and lights • Equipment: Up to you but you're responsible for your own safety. Food and drinks at the beer garden not included — pay your own. See you! 🚲

Cycle & swim - Werbellinsee to Werneuchen

Cycle & swim - Werbellinsee to Werneuchen

Sat, Jul 25, 7:31 AM
From Berlin Cycling
4.9

========== FACTS ========== ROUTE: Kaiserbahnhof > Werbellinsee > Zur kleinen Moldau > Tempelfelde > Werneuchen LEVEL: Intermediate to Experienced DISTANCE: 55ish kms MEETING POINT: 08:20 - Berlin Ostkreuz ========== FACTS ========== ========= DETAILS ========= **ROUTE:** This time we enjoy not only crystal clear water but also Czech food and Beer! Starting in Kaiserbahnhof we first head for a refreshing swim at the southern end of the Werbellinsee, one of my favourite spots in Brandenburg. Right after (more or less, its 7km,) the swimming we can enjoy a very pittoresque and really lovely place. Surrounded by "Der kleine Maulwurf", "Soldat Schweijk" and all these figures which were (hopefully) brighten up your… younger day the[ "Zur kleinen Moldau"](https://www.facebook.com/zurkleinenmoldau/) is serving tasty beer and food in a very unique atmosphere. It is a place I never left not happy! After refreshed and filled we then head for a longer ride southbound, passing green forrests and quiet places. A last stop is planned in the [Oase Brasserie](https://www.oase-brasserie.de) in Tempelfelde to get a coffee (and hopefully cake) before we arrive in Werneuchen. From Werneuen we hop into the train which runs every hour and will bring us straight back to Berlin. **SPEED:** Leisurely around 14 km/h, at least if the wind doesn't come from the front. This is like "Being able to see the details on the side of the road and enjoying the view in general… and have a chat." **DISTANCE AND TERRAIN:** This is an about 55ish km ride, with mainly mixed and soft but also some solid ground. In general: Bikes with thin tyres (Race bikes, Road bikes, Fixies), rented bikes (Uber, Swapfiets) or any special bikes (Folding bikes, BMX etc.) are not suitable! You won't have fun, trust me! And if you want to bring Kids or Animals please get in touch before! **MEETING POINT:** 08:20 - Berlin Ostkreuz, on platform 14 for the train RB24. I have a blue Villiger Trekking bike. But you can hop in at any other station if you want (and dare). **TICKET:** It is 11,80 outbound and 5,- EUR for ABC back / person, so this time it does make sense to organise a BBT if at least 2 other ppl join me! If you're amongst them let me know! And don't forget your "[24-hour ticket bicycle VBB network](https://www.vbb.de/en/tickets/tickets-for-your-bicycle/24-hour-ticket-bicycle/)" ticket which is about 7,50 EUR. **WAY OUT:** 08:41 - dep. Berlin Ostkreuz, platform 14, taking RB24 to Eberswalde 09:27 - arr. Eberswalde, platform 2, switching trains 09:37 - dep. Eberswalde, RB63, platform 4, 09:58 - arr. Kaiserbahnhof Joachimsthal **WAY BACK:** 18:04 - dep. Werneuchen, RB25 18:42 - arr. Berlin Ostkreuz **RECOMMENDATIONS:** Check the train schedule in the morning! The DB loves to stir up the plans by changing trains on short notice! If anything happens the Meeting point is the starting point of the cycling. While we'll stop somewhere for a lunch and/or coffee please always bring your snacks but especially some drinks along! And, PLEASE make sure your bike is in a proper state! Check your tyre pressure and oil the chain! Does your light work? Having a toolset is highly recommended and a spare inner tube to fix a flat tyre a big plus! While we might be able to help in some circumstances please think about what happens if we can't! Thank you! Bringing special equipment (Helmet, safety vest etc.) is NOT required but welcome if you feel more safe using it. And in case you need special medical treatment please make me aware of that upfront. Even if everyone is responsible for themselves I'd like to be able to handle it if necessary. ========= DETAILS =========

Cycle & dine - Seehof Rheinsberg

Cycle & dine - Seehof Rheinsberg

Sat, Aug 1, 6:15 AM
From Berlin Cycling
4.9

**ATTENTION: This is one of the highlights each year! A 2 days-tour with a Dinner on SAT.!** https://www.meetup.com/berlin-cycling/events/315749152 https://www.meetup.com/berlin-cycling/events/315749315 Please check your accommodation yourself! ========== FACTS ========== ROUTE: Neustrelitz > Useriner See > Giesenschlagsee > Rheinsberg LEVEL: Intermediate to Experienced DISTANCE: 50ish kms MEETING POINT: 08:15 - Berlin Südkreuz ========== FACTS ========== ========= DETAILS ========= **IMPORTANT:** This is a 2-day tour and the idea is to cycle out there, have a delicious Dinner and cycle back TOGETHER! So please check your accomodation (or tent) before you confirm. The restaurant does offer vegetarian options but maybe no vegan (please check yourself if you prefer that). **ROUTE:** This is the yearly visit to one of the best restaurants in Brandenburg, the Seehof Rheinsberg, [www.seehof-rheinsberg.de](http://www.seehof-rheinsberg.de/) A place certainly not to be missed! Due to the ongoing fire in the Müritz nature reserve it was not clear if we could pass the originally planned route. So we will start in Neustrelitz this time and cycle "downhill", ar least mapwise.! Cycling on a relaxed route right after 10 km is the first option for a swim in the Useriner See. After that it is mainly quiet, peaceful and green (aka forrest paths). Passing the Fleether Mühle 18 km later there is a chance for a coffee and after 2 more km a last chance for a swim in the crystal clear Giesenschlagsee. From there we head the remaining 17km straight to the restaurant where we're awaited for a most delicious dinner at the Seehof Rheinsberg at around 18:00. All in all this is planned to be a relaxed tour but being there at Dinner time requires to not forget time at all. **SPEED:** Leisurely around 14 km/h, at least if the wind doesn't come from the front. This is like "Being able to see the details on the side of the road and enjoying the view in general… and have a chat." **DISTANCE AND TERRAIN:** This is an about 50ish km ride, with mainly solid but also some forrest or soft ground. **MEETING POINT:** 08:15 - Berlin Südkreuz, platform 4 for RE5 to Rostock I have a blue Villiger Trekking bike. **TICKET:** From Berlin to Neustrelotz it is 30,- EUR regular. I'd buy a Berlin-Brandenburg-Ticket (36,50) and invite the first 4 people who get in touch to join me on that ticket. Please bring cash! All others: please feel free to organise your own Ticket/BBT. And don't forget a Bike ticket. **WAY OUT:** 08:34 - dep. Berlin Südkreuz, RE 5, platform 4 09:59 - arr. Neustrelitz Feel free to hop in at any other station (I'd highly recommend not to try Gesundbrunnen, except you're short of coffee and need some extra excitment in the morning). **WAY BACK:** There is no way back since that day we're all staying in Rheinsberg. **RECOMMENDATIONS:** Check the train schedule in the morning! The DB loves to stir up the plans by changing trains on short notice! If anything happens the Meeting point is the starting point of the cycling. Communication is taking place in the WA channel. Join here: https://hub.keinezeitfuerarbeit.de/join-community While we'll stop somewhere for a snack and/or coffee please always bring some drinks along! And, PLEASE make sure your bike is in a proper state! Check your tyre pressure and oil the chain! Does your light work? Thank you! Bringing special equipment (Helmet, safety vest etc.) is NOT required but welcome if you feel more safe using it. Siemesstadt! - Cycle Tour and Explore

Siemesstadt! - Cycle Tour and Explore

Sat, Jul 25, 10:00 AM
From Berlin cycle and walk
4.9

# **Siemesstadt! - Cycle Tour and Explore** **Theme:** Cycle Loop + History + Beer Garden on the Havel. **Time:** 12:00 **Start:** Hamburger Bahnhof **Distance:** 25 to 40 km (depending if you cycle back) **Suggested contribution:** €10 This week we will be exploring Siemensstadt. A whole district of Berlin built out by one of Germany and Berlin’s most famous firms. Factories, beautiful housing estates, military industry, canals and power generation are all on display. We will end at a beer garden by the Havel in one of the old factories. **The Tour** We will follow, more or less, the **"Produktion und Munition" Industrial Heritage Cycle Route**. Starting at Hamburger Bahnhof we will travel up through Wedding and Jungfernheidepark, rolling into Siemesstadt **UNESCO-listed** Siemens Housing Estate and from there looping around the vast industrial complexes of Siemens that once employed more than 55,000 people. We'll also have a look at some of the power stations in the area, and investigate the story of West Berlin's isolated electricity network during the Cold War. We'll finish with a well-earned beer together on a little island in the Havel river near Spandau. From there you can get the train home or cycle back to town to complete the 40km loop. I am an accredited tour guide in Berlin, specialising in telling stories about the city's industrial heritage. I ask for a contribution of **€10** to organise the tour and share my knowledge. **Disclaimer:** Please note that all participants attend as group members, not as customers and are liable for themselves. Please read the group description in full for an explanation of terms and liabilities. **The Cycling** This is a gentle-paced sightseeing ride rather than a sporting event. 🚲 We'll cover around 25 kilometres, 40 if you cycle back to town. There will be frequent stops for stories, photographs and discussion. Anyone with a decent bicycle and experience cycling around Berlin should be comfortable on this route. **What to Bring** 🚲 Spare inner tube suitable for your bike 💶 Cash for drinks or snacks 🌧 Waterproofs (just in case!) ☀️ Suncream 🥪 Water and snacks 😊 Curiosity and a sense of adventure **Highlights** ⚡ Discover how Siemens built one of the world's first purpose-designed industrial company towns 🏭 Explore the monumental Wernerwerk factories that made Siemens a global engineering giant 🕰️ Admire the famous Wernerwerk Clock Tower, the symbol of Siemensstadt 🏘️ Cycle through the UNESCO World Heritage Siemens Housing Estate and learn how industry transformed workers' lives 🔋 Discover how electricity generation, transport and manufacturing came together to create Berlin's "Electropolis" ⚔️ Explore Spandau's centuries-old military history and its role as the centre of Prussian arms production 🔥 See the enormous Reuter Power Station and hear how West Berlin became an electrical island during the Cold War 🚆 See the historic Siemensbahn, built to transport tens of thousands of workers every day 📸 Fantastic photography opportunities among some of Berlin's finest industrial architecture 🍺 Finish with a relaxed drink together on a beautiful island in the Havel River. I estimate the tour to Spandau will take about 3 hours. After this it would be an extra hour back to town for people who cycle back. Should be a fun explorative Saturday afternoon. Hope to see you there! **Simon**

Bouldering Session

Bouldering Session

Sun, Aug 2, 9:00 AM
From Urban Sports Cult
4.8

Have you always wanted to learn bouldering but never had the right company? Or are you an experienced boulderer who just wants to find boulder-buddies? If yes, this is the right event for you. We are going to meet inside "urban apes Basement Boulderstudio", close to S Anhalter Bahnhof, also not far from Potsdamer Platz. If you have never been there, you will need to sign up with them, which will take a bit of time. After that, **you can find us on the couches near the lockers (not in front of the reception), next to a red smiley**. When you enter the actual gym, enter the hall by turning left immediately - you are walking towards them. We will start warming up around 11:10, so everyone has enough time to arrive and get changed before that. ***\*\*\**** *Spots are limited, so please update your RSVP at least 24 hours in advance if you won't be joining. **NO-SHOWs ARE NOT COOL \*\*\**** We enter the gym at 11:00, if you are late, you will need to look for us inside. IMPORTANT: they only accept cards as a payment method. No cash. One day ticket will cost you 13,90 EUR (10,90 EUR if you are a student, free if Urban Sports Club). **What to bring: well, first of all, a good mood.** But you could also bring * climbing shoes if you have any. If not, you can rent them there, no worries. They cost 3,50 EUR. * a lock (for the locker). * chalk. You won't need that if you are a beginner. Renting is possible. * water. * extra clothes. It's quite chalky there and humans sweat, not the best mix, don't you think? :D Please, note: the organizer is not responsible for anything, including injuries. A basic introduction will be provided.
