Love soccer but want a more relaxed, lower-impact way to play? Welcome to our **Walking Soccer group**! This is a friendly, social group for people who enjoy soccer and want to stay active without the running, sprinting, and physical intensity of traditional soccer. First game with group is free so you can try to see how you like the game. Subsequent games are $5 to help cover permit costs. What is walking soccer? Walking soccer is played at a walking pace, one heel on ground at all times. The focus is on passing, ball control, teamwork, and having fun while getting some exercise. Rules: One heel on ground at all times, passes stay below hip height to encourage quick passing. Long Beach Boardwalk Phone Photo Walk: Tickets to Paradise

Let’s go for a Phone Photo Walk on the Long Beach Boardwalk and to Broadway music concert by the Sand! Group meets at 4:30pm by the Long Beach LIRR Train Station and we walk 1/2 to the Boardwalk. “Tickets to Paradise” is the name of the new Art on the 16 Ticket booths along the 2 mile Boardwalk. Let’s try to see most of them before the “Broadway by the Beach” concert on Lincoln Blvd that starts at 7pm. Plan to walk some 3.5miles with stops to practice some phone photo skills. Bring snacks, water and wear supportive Shoes. And bring a towel to to sit on the sand for the Show. Fun fun fun. **Our i-conic🍦🍨ice cream walk is back—AGAIN!! ✨😃🤘** **This walk is all about ice cream, perfect for a hot summer day in the city:** * **Brisker 8 mile loop with start/ end at Columbus Circle.** * **About 5 hours on city streets (Upper West / East Side) and Central Park paths.** * **Numerous drop out points.** **Meet:** **Columbus Circle behind the Maine Monument in the shade at 4pm. We will start on time.** **Subways: 59th street station (Columbus Circle): A, B, C, D, 1; 57th street station (Carnegie Hall): N, Q, R.** **What to expect on this walk:** * **Mix of modern creameries and old-school parlors with a blend of traditional and innovative gelato, kosher, vegan and even Mexican-inspired ice cream. **Though the body we move in nature, with our mind/consciousness we are part of nature.** **MINDFULNESS - the practice of maintaining a nonjudgemental state of heighted or complete awareness of one's thoughts, emotions or experiences on a moment-to-moment basis.** **MINDFUL WALKING - a practice that enhances mental clarity and reduces stress by fostering a deep connection with the present moment (the here and now) through awareness of each individual step and the Sight, Sound and Smell of the surrounding environment.** **Take the 10:00 am Governors Island Ferry from the Battery Maritime Building (10 South Street).** **You can book the ferry online or at the BMB.** **(check the Governors Island website for complete information)** **Please read the below information carefully and take the time to view the myriads of videos available that explain the concept of Mindful Walking.** **Let me begin by thanking you for accompanying me on a work in progress to develop a methodology for teaching and leading a Mindful Walking workshop, my goal is to guide/lead the novice through an unfamiliar or complex procedure in a step-by-step process so that they can attain a basic level of skill and knowledge in the practice of Mindful Walking. Upon meeting at the Governors Island Welcome Center for a brief introduction we will proceed to the Parade Grounds and commerce with a breathing and exercise session, followed by several training practice walks that will introduce the attendees to the techniques of Mindful Walking.** **For the remainder of our Governors Island adventure, we will alternate long bouts of conversation flowing walking sessions with shorter bouts of silent guided Mindful Walking sessions (which will transverse the natural scenic beauty of the The Great Promenade and The Hills).** **Because of the workshop nature of this event, I will limit the number of attendees to ten (10) people.
