The Only Way Is West: A Thru-Hiking Adventure by Bradley Chermside What does it take to walk hundreds of miles across northern Spain? Blisters, questionable decisions, beautiful landscapes, unexpected friendships, a sense of humor, and a whole lot of determination. This time, we’re reading The Only Way Is West, a travel memoir about hiking the Camino de Santiago. Join us as we explore the challenges, surprises, and unforgettable moments that come with taking on an epic journey on foot. Let’s Talk Adventure! This isn’t just about the book. We want to hear about your adventures, too! Have you tackled a multi-day trek, hiked a legendary trail, or found yourself somewhere spectacular after a long day on your feet? Or maybe you’ve got a bucket-list hike you’ve been dreaming about for years. Bring your stories! We’ll share epic hiking experiences, ambitious trekking plans, and the adventures we’d love to take someday. No need to be an experienced thru-hiker. Just bring your curiosity, your love of adventure, and your enthusiasm for a good book. **Tentative schedule** 7:30 - 8pm Socialize, get comfy 8 - 9pm Book Chat 9pm + Food, drinks either at the venue or somewhere close by 📚💙 Epic Stories | Real Adventures

Catskill 3500 Guided Hike - Kaaterskill HP

Catskill 3500 Guided Hike - Kaaterskill HP

From TrailBound Project

In order to officially secure your spot on this event and to receive the details email of where to exactly park and meet with us you must register on our site by clicking the link below. https://www.trailboundproject.com/service-page/catskill-3500-guided-hike-kaaterskill-hp?referral=service_list_widget Our events typically fill up at 24 people for guided hikes! You won't see the attendees here on meetup as registrations are on our site but we wanted to let you know that we typically see large outings for all of our events! Kaaterskill High Peak, at 3,655', is one of the 33 Catskill 3500 peaks that one must climb to become a Catskill 3500 Club member. Note: This hike goes to the peak of the 3,655' mountain called Kaaterskill High Peak. It does not pass by or go to Kaaterskill Falls. This is a challenging hike of 8 miles and 2,100' of elevation change that we'll take at a moderate pace over the course of about 8 hours. Along the route of both marked and unmarked trails, we will visit two plane wrecks and a Mohawk Indian Camp. We'll split the group near the top so the more adventurous TrailBounders can take the fun steep scramble approach from the South, while the more conservative of us can take the more sensible approach from the North! Either way, we will all be rewarded with breathtaking views up top! Join the TrailBounders for an epic day of adventure! The parking and hike details are emailed after registration.

Let's meet up for drinks at Puttery NYC. It is a five level bar with two floors of mini golf. We will aim for the rooftop unless it is busy and if it is, we will meet on the third floor. Even will take place between 7pm and 10pm. You can drop in at any time in between those times. We might stay later than 10 but for now 10. No need to arrive at 7 sharp. I will post on the comments sections which floor we are meeting and also my number if you can't find us. Come join us even if it's your first meetup! The more the merrier. Let's chat over drinks about past and future outdoor adventures and play some mini-golf. Picture on the event is from their Instagram account. I will be walking starting at 6:30 from 34th on the Highline towards the bar if anyone wants to join me. Otherwise see everyone at 7 or anytime after.

**###PLEASE NOTE: Even if you RSVP on Meetup, you will need to grab a ticket here https://www.skipthesmalltalk.com/store/skip-the-small-talk-night-at-pianos-wednesday-november-11-2026 in order to attend###** This event is cross-posted so Meetup RSVPs won't accurately reflect the actual number of attendees; typically there are around 30-40 people in attendance. **What's It Like?** We've all heard that making friends is hard, loneliness is an epidemic, and the internet is making us all forget how to be humans. So let’s ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING about it and talk to other human beings! You’ll pair up with the other nice people who showed up, and you’ll switch off partners every so often (kinda like speed-dating, but without the speed and without the dating). We'll have a fabulous host leading the whole shebang so it won't be awkward, and we'll give you question cards to guide conversation just a few notches deeper than you'd usually go so you don't accidentally talk about what you do for work six times in a row. And don’t worry… the questions aren’t going to trick you into trauma-dumping and aren’t just variations on “If you could have dinner with anybody dead or alive, who would it be?” They’re designed to actually help you feel connected to people, so they’re stuff like, “In what ways are you different from the person you were five years ago? In what ways are you the same?” And, “If you could give your 10-year-old-self one piece of advice (after stock tips and lottery numbers and that kind of stuff), what would it be?” And if you don’t vibe with any question for any reason, you can always just pick another one! Feel free to come alone (most people do-- we promise we won't make it weird for you) or bring a friend! There will be food and drinks for sale! **Check-in** for this event will begin around **6:45 pm**. Please do your best to arrive before 7:00 pm so we can begin as close to on time as possible. Skip the Small Talk is dedicated to providing an inclusive, welcoming environment for everyone. Check out our safety policy here: tinyurl.com/ststSafety Please see our event [page](https://www.skipthesmalltalk.com/store/skip-the-small-talk-night-at-pianos-wednesday-november-11-2026) for more accessibility info. We tend to sell out in advance in most of our cities, and it bums us out when we have to turn away people at the door, so if you’re interested, PLEASE **[grab a ticket](https://www.skipthesmalltalk.com/store/skip-the-small-talk-night-at-pianos-wednesday-november-11-2026)** as soon as you find a date that works for you! **Want to stay in the loop for future events?** If you want to be the first to hear about our events before we sell out, you can join our **[non-spammy mailing list here](https://sendfox.com/skipthesmalltalk)**.
