What: A 2.3 mile slow walk with 338 feet of elevation gain. hi friends! i’m hosting a sticker making craft night at alameda brewing and you’re invited! 💕 it’s free to join, supplies are provided, all you have to do is show up! i’ll have a greeting table in the warehouse to greet everyone for the first hour, then i’ll make the rounds with our guests and see how everyone is doing! if you’d like to donate colored pencils or packing tape, that would be greatly appreciated! see you soon!

Lincoln Park Steps

Tucked away on the edge of Land's End are the beautiful Lincoln Park steps. The steps were re-done in 2007 and designed by local artist Aileen Barr. They are found at the end of a small side-street of an apartment complex, and lead up to the beginning of the park and golf course.

Just some convivial folks hanging out at a neighborhood pub with their skechbooks. You don't have to be an "artist," or whatever that means, to be here. Bringing art supplies is a great idea though! Hydration is encouraged! The Flying Pig sells soft drinks and other n/a options as well as beer and cider. 
We come up with a theme or prompt for each week. You're free to use it or ignore it. It's about inspiring to stray from the norm. Speaking of which, this week's theme/prompt is [TBA]

Treasure Book making series-Plant Medicine (4 sessions via Zoom)

**Plant Magic Treasure Book Class** 4 Fridays 5-7pm PST on Zoom only, $75 July 10, July 24, Aug 7, Aug 21 Optional Prep Session: Sunday, July 5th 1-3pm (in person and on Zoom) $20 includes materials Let’s bind a book together or use a ready made journal to honor the vast plant magic in our world. No knowledge or skills needed. Jennifer will guide us from selecting materials to binding books and filling the pages. Sessions will be via Zoom, and recorded and available throughout the duration of the class (and a few weeks after we conclude). We’ll make our covers using fabric and a soft mailer, then bind in our pages and fill and decorate them together. The emphasis will be on honoring plants as the friends and helpers they are, and you are invited to interpret that theme in anyway you wish. You can directly emulate what Jennifer does or take a different direction and honor a single plant (eg lavender) or type of plants (eg the ones growing in your garden), a favorite tree of memory, or anything else you find joy in. July 5th will be an optional prep day where you can join in person or watch via zoom to prepare and gather supplies if you wish. And if you can’t join or don’t want to, kits will be available for a low cost. July 5th Prep Session will include: -coffee dying -gelli printing -collecting scrapbook papers, book pages, vintage papers, fabrics, lace and trims -botanical images -soft mailers to be covered and used as the cover of the book -readymade items from Jennifer’s stash Kits will include: -premade things from Jennifer: pockets, tags, strips, clusters -botanical images -fabric and a soft mailer to make the cover (or let Jennifer know if you want yours to come to you already assembled) -coffee dyed papers -scrapbook papers -vintage papers -lace and trims -book plates and book corners In addition to the items in the kit, you will need glue and scissors, things to play with like stamps and collage materials. Jennifer recommends Scotch permanent glue stick AND Fabri-tac fabric glue if you plan to use fabric/lace etc in your journal. Needle and strong thread for binding your own journal. You can absolutely skip making your own journal and use a ready-made journal. You can also skip the kit/ prep session and source your own materials. Let’s play! Drawing Nature in the Field

Join the Green Benefit District for a morning of sketching in the field. We will focus on a local, native plant and possibly the insects attracted to the plant. An overview of the site and instruction for drawing will be provided. In order that one on one time is possible, this fun artistic event is **limited to 15 people**. **Waiver and registration required in advance**. Contact eddie@naturetrip . com for location and additional information. **Suggested supplies to bring:** \- Basic drawing materials… - Pens, pencils, erasers, paper/sketchbook or notebook (thicker paper is better, but we can modulate to whatever people have) - Optional: color materials (watercolors, colored pencils, etc. whatever more experienced attendees might want to make art with!) \- Something to sit on\, like a travel stool or chair\, towel\, or seating pad -Loupe for detailed views \- Weather appropriate clothing \(we can check the weather closer to the date\) \- Generally\, appropriate gear to spending a few hours outside: sun protection\, layers\, closed toed shoes \- Water bottle **BIO:** [Amanda Konishi](https://www.akonishi.com/) is a scientific illustrator and fine artist with a focus on Entomological and Botanical subjects, and a special interest in pollinator ecosystems and gall forming insects. Her record as a fine artist working in abstraction paired with the heavily researched, hyper focused interpretation necessitated by science communication present two distinct bodies of work, respectively defining two avenues to engage with the natural world.
