Girls Night Out - Under K Bridge - DJ Chris Lake - Hangout & Friends

Fri, Jun 5, 10:00 PM
From NYC Rave & Clubbing Meetup Group

If you love to socialize and dance, this is for you! Join us for DJ Chris Lake at Under the K Bridge. Starts at 7 til 11:30PM. Tickets are around $75 which is a little pricey but I am curious to see if members are interested as I have heard great reviews of this DJ. If cost is an issue we can always change the venue. All ages and identities are welcome. The only thing that matters is your love of people and music. We will meet for drinks first at a nearby location around 6PM. The location will be shared to attendees via private message the day before. The group will head over to the venue around 7 or when the group is ready. Bring yourself. Ok to bring your friends too. **\*GET TICKETS AT -** [https://www.eventbrite.com/e/brooklyn-bridge-singles-sunset-date-walk-tickets-1985402894503](https://www.eventbrite.com/e/brooklyn-bridge-singles-sunset-date-walk-tickets-1985402894503) (\*First 5 ladies save $5 by using discount code "5" at checkout. Multiple groups are co-organizing so the RSVP's shown are just a very small portion of the total members attending. Space is extremely limited as this event sells out every time.) Kick off Spring by joining fun and friendly singles for a sunset stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge. Our "Date Walks" are very casual and non-awkward way to meet others. Your host will be there to make introductions and will have everyone rotate, asking the men and women to switch so everyone gets a chance to talk with everyone. We will first meet at a Starbucks where you can grab a drink for your walk. Then we'll walk a 1.5-2 mile stretch to the Brooklyn Bridge Park to NYC. We will also hang afterwards in a nearby area. FAQs: **How many will attend?** We limit the # of attendees to 30 so that everyone has enough time to get to know each other. **What are the ages?** We'll have a good mix of ages and everyone usually finds others in their age group. **What if rains?** We will email attendees a new date. **Can I come alone?** Yes, about 90% come on their own. **How much?** $15-$25 depending upon when you get ticket and # of spots left. Hi all! After skipping April's, we're back with some fiction. I haven't read this one and it looked fun- hopefully it will be! Here is the [link](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/216052751-the-book-club-for-troublesome-women?ac=1&from_search=true&qid=7ZPzg0YmKT&rank=3) to the description of the book. I also wanted to project out some books over the coming months (that might take longer from the library so you should request now if you want to go that route): June: [Woodworking](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/217311813-woodworking?from_search=true&from_srp=true&qid=WghfDg1LrF&rank=1) July: [Yesteryear](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/238226942-yesteryear?ref=nav_sb_ss_1_10) Also glad to take some suggestions for after! Please only RSVP if you plan to attend and please update your RSVP status if your plans change. We'll have casual potluck so bring whatever you'd like to share with the group. See you soon! Rebecca

“Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow” by Gabrielle Zevin

“Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow” by Gabrielle Zevin

Wed, May 27, 10:30 PM
From Weehawken Book Club

Join us for our May book club pick “Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow” by Gabrielle Zevin! We’ll meet at the Weehawken Farmers Market, a great opportunity to peruse local finds before settling in for a fun discussion!! We will post an exact meeting spot at the farmers market once it starts back up again at the end of April As always, no pressure to read the book, our goal is to build community 😊 A little more about the book- The novel follows Sadie Green and Sam Masur, two friends who meet as children and reconnect in college through their shared passion for video game design. Along with their collaborator Marx, they build a successful gaming company, creating immersive worlds that reflect their inner lives. The story spans decades, exploring creativity, ambition, love, identity, and the complexities of collaboration. It’s less about romance in a traditional sense and more about the deep, evolving bond between Sadie and Sam—how they hurt each other, support each other, and create together. Themes include the meaning of success, the cost of genius, and how people cope with trauma and loss.
