**\*GET TICKETS AT:** [https://www.eventbrite.com/e/brooklyn-bridge-singles-sunset-date-walk-tickets-1307319671329](https://www.eventbrite.com/e/brooklyn-bridge-singles-sunset-date-walk-tickets-1307319671329) (\*First 5 ladies save $5 by using discount code "5" at checkout. Multiple groups are co-organizing so the RSVP's shown are just a very small portion of the total members attending. Space is extremely limited as this event sells out every time.) Kick off Spring by joining fun and friendly singles for a sunset stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge. Our "Date Walks" are very casual and non-awkward way to meet others. Your host will be there to make introductions and will have everyone rotate, asking the men and women to switch so everyone gets a chance to talk with everyone. We will first meet at a Starbucks where you can grab a drink for your walk. Then we'll walk a 1.5-2 mile stretch to the Brooklyn Bridge Park to NYC. We will also hang afterwards in a nearby area. FAQs: **How many will attend?** We limit the # of attendees to 30 so that everyone has enough time to get to know each other. **What are the ages?** We'll have a good mix of ages and everyone usually finds others in their age group. **What if rains?** We will email attendees a new date. **Can I come alone?** Yes, about 90% come on their own. **How much?** $15-$25 depending upon when you get ticket and # of spots left. From Queer Book Club

Hey Everyone! **Welcome to Queer Book Club! We read books about, for and written by queer people! Follow us on Instagram @queer_book_club Our next meetup will be held on Tuesday August 11th at Young Ethel’s in Park Slope BK This month we will be reading Seasons of Glass and Iron: Stories by Amal El-Mohtar ** Full of glimpses into gleaming worlds and fairy tales with teeth, Seasons of Glass and Stories is a collection of acclaimed and awarded work from Amal El-Mohtar. With confidence and style, El-Mohtar guides us through exquisitely told and sharply observed tales about life as it is, was, and could be. Like miscellany from other worlds, these stories are told in letters, diary entries, reference materials, folktales, and lyrical prose. **At the end of the discussion we can vote on which book we read for next month so bring a queer suggestion. Make sure to support our amazing host bar, by buying drinks! They are so great to support us so we must do our part in return! We are a lovely accepting group of queers and allies, and all are welcome! Our book list is officially too long for meetup and will now live on this google doc!

We use the Groupvibe platform to facilitate the meetup and ensure everyone’s a good fit. 👉 **To attend, you’ll need to complete registration via this link:** [https://groupvibe.com/](https://groupvibe.com/) We’ll share the exact location of the upcoming meetup the night before only if you have bought a ticket or membership plan. **Why this works:** \* Smaller groups make real conversations easier. \* Discover new restaurants in your city, together. \* Curated dinner venues with good food and vibe. \* If you hit it off with your group, there’s plenty of time to hang out afterwards. **Note:** RSVPs on Meetup don’t reflect total attendance. Manhattan Smutty Book Club - Obsidian by Laurann Dohner

Manhattan Smutty Book Club - Obsidian by Laurann Dohner

Tue, Aug 4, 11:00 PM
From Smutty Book Club
4.9

The book for August is recommended by T - **[Obsidian (New Species Book 8) by Laurann Dohner](https://a.co/d/0hUMUfCB)**. Although it is book 8, you don't need to read the other books. This is a world where the government was infusing animal and human DNA creating various New Species beings. They escape and sue the government for rights. There you are all caught up. This book is about the female scientist and the comatose cat man she kidnaps to protect... gee I wonder how she's going to wake him up? (raised eyebrow) A bit of gross business: Someone was using the name of Smutty Book Club and its organizers to invite people to for-profit events. **If you receive any solicitation for an event or receive communication outside of Meetup, asking for money - it is a scam.** Please let us know if you see anything suspicious. A bit of good business: Our annual trip to the **Renaissance Festival will be Saturday, September 26th.** Stay tuned for the Meetup. Ok back to **[Obsidian by Laurann Dohner](https://a.co/d/0hUMUfCB).** Here's what the publisher says: *. Dr. Allison Baker is obsessed with saving the comatose New Species male. She has tried everything and there’s only one option left. Alli will break every rule and put her life in danger by tempting 880 to wake, using only her feminine scent and touch. She just has to kidnap him and crawl into bed with him to make it work.* *. 880 wakes in a different world with a small female who’s been sleeping beside him, caressing him and wrapping her sweet body around his, teasing his senses. He lies silent and still, listening and evaluating each arousing touch, fighting his body’s reaction. Hatred flares when he discovers she’s human, but Mercile stole everything from him so he decides it’s fair to take her in return.* *. But things quickly change and he wants her at his side and in his bed. 880 has chosen a new name—Obsidian—the personification of dark and dangerous. He’ll fight them all to keep Alli. No one will stand in his way.* The book for each month will be chosen at the book club before. So come with your suggestions! Please join us at Cornerstone Tavern, 961 2nd Ave, New York, NY (51st and 2nd) for great conversation, laughs, and friendship. Look for our signs, and listen for the laughter. We are often in the back of Cornerstone behind the curtain, which is actually a different restaurant called the Stags Head. We are also often upstairs at Stags Head. We start at 7pm, but feel free to come early before happy hour ends at 7. People usually start to drift in by 6:30pm.
