Life drawing has long been a foundational practice of classical art and is regarded as the best way to learn to draw the human form. However, most life drawing classes focus on static poses without intention or meaning. These are great for learning human anatomy, but what do they tell you about the character? Teaming up with our talented life models, you will learn traditional life drawing techniques with a focus on capturing models with props, armour, and costumes in fantastical and story driven poses. **In this class, you will:** * Be guided through a fantasy-themed life drawing class with a costumed model * Learn figure drawing techniques * Gain an understanding of human anatomy and how it interacts with a variety of materials * Learn how to effectively pose characters to convey meaning and story **What to bring:** * Your preferred paper and drawing materials, but basic materials are available if needed. * Your awesome self. Drawing II / Course for intermediate drawing skills

WE HAVE ONLY THREE PLACES AVAILABLE FOR THIS COURSE DRAW II . Urban Landscapes This is a seven week course focussed on an urban landscape on Sydney Harbour. Urban landscapes provide an opportunity to draw structure within the landscape which is a great way for beginner drawing students to segue into landscape and the different drawing approaches for that genre. The first session is spent drawing on-site in a Sydney Harbour location learning how artists make studies that are useful as reference material for works created and developed in the studio. Weeks 2 – 7 in this course are spent in the studio with experienced artist [Carmel Byrne](www.carmelbyrne.com) to help develop ideas and to experiment further with materials and scale in drawing. Students must provide their own materials for this course and we’ll back up in the studio with any materials that will help extend your vocabulary in drawing along with scale and techniques. Nauti Sketch Club: Life Drawing

Welcome to our Nauti Sketch Club! Our creative community hub and warehouse workspace in Forest Lodge/Glebe hosts monthly life drawing nights, complete with an optional workshop. Takes place on the **Bi monthly on Wednesdays from 7 to 9pm.** You don’t need any drawing experience to join us—everyone is welcome! Gather your friends, sit back, and enjoy drinks and snacks (BYO) while you spend the evening drawing the nude human figure from a professional live model. June 2026 Painting Meetup

Everyone is welcome at the Woollahra Painting Meetup from first time beginners to advanced artists. Our Sunday painting sessions include both group and individual guidance from our regular professional artist and tutor, Christina Rogers. Please bring your own art gear including: a canvas or sketch paper, paints, brushes, easel, cleanup paper, etc. We have tables & chairs for those that don't have an easel. We mostly use oil paints but you are welcome to use whatever paint medium you prefer. Please avoid the use of solvents. If you wish to sketch, please bring pencils or charcoal, etc. Come early to setup around 9:45am as technique training usually happens within the first 1/2 hour from 10:00-10:30am. Hot drinks are available for you to make in the kitchen area. A fee of $25 - is payable on the day. Please bring the right change if possible. We look forward to seeing you! Daniel
