Drawing II / Course for intermediate drawing skills
Sat, May 30, 3:00 AMWE HAVE ONLY THREE PLACES AVAILABLE FOR THIS COURSE DRAW II . Urban Landscapes This is a seven week course focussed on an urban landscape on Sydney Harbour. Urban landscapes provide an opportunity to draw structure within the landscape which is a great way for beginner drawing students to segue into landscape and the different drawing approaches for that genre. The first session is spent drawing on-site in a Sydney Harbour location learning how artists make studies that are useful as reference material for works created and developed in the studio. Weeks 2 – 7 in this course are spent in the studio with experienced artist [Carmel Byrne](www.carmelbyrne.com) to help develop ideas and to experiment further with materials and scale in drawing. Students must provide their own materials for this course and we’ll back up in the studio with any materials that will help extend your vocabulary in drawing along with scale and techniques. Level: Intermediate drawing skills Runs 23 May - 4 July 2026 Saturdays 1 – 4pm Book here - http://www.scratchartspace.com/book/#!/Drawing-II-Urban-Landscape/p/339428010/category=0

Parramatta! Can you clap in time? Why not join us and learn Brazilian drumming!
Tue, May 26, 9:00 AMTuesday = groovesday! End your day in a fun way, connect with others through the joy of music, and learn some fabulous Brazilian rhythms in the process. We're a friendly group of rhythm-hungry folk and we'd love to meet you! Just bring your lovely selves, a positive attitude, and a desire to learn and have some fun! Wear comfortable clothes and shoes as we'll be standing while we drum. All drums are provided. Cost of the session is $12, payable on the night by either credit card or cash (please bring correct change). Arrive 10 minutes before the class as the door closes at 7pm sharp (we have to respect the neighbours and close the doors and sound curtains once we start playing ... sadly that means we won't hear anyone banging on the doors after we have started, so if you are late, unfortunately you will miss out). Plenty of free parking outside the hall on Jubilee Lane. We also get invited regularly to play at some awesome events (we've played at Gabs Craft Beer Festival, Meatstock Music & BBQ festival, Torch Fest, Global Rhythms etc). So, if you become a regular attendee at rehearsals, and have a basic sense of rhythm you will be invited to join us at some or all of the gigs. They are SOOO much fun! \o/
