Mandarin Language Exchange

This edition of the meetup will be at Cafe Luxxe Manhattan Beach! The pier and oceanfront are walking distance from here for those looking to explore before or after the meetup. This is a welcoming, supportive environment to learn and practice Mandarin conversation and any other language you wish to learn or share. Please feel free to bring any learning materials you’re working on, language questions you have, a notebook or whiteboard and marker. See you there! Parking: street parking can be very limited, but there are a few public parking structures nearby, including near the Manhattan Beach Library and Joselyn Community Center. We suggest planning for parking and walking time.

**Bonjour à tous,** I'm excited to introduce a new feature for our French-speaking community: **a French Reading Series delivered directly to your inbox.** Every two weeks, I'll share a short French story designed to help you build vocabulary, improve comprehension, and stay connected to the language through regular reading. The stories will start out simple and gradually become more challenging as the series progresses. There are **50 stories in total**, taking you from short beginner-friendly texts to longer stories with more advanced vocabulary and structures. A few suggestions: * Read the story once for overall understanding. * Don't worry about translating every word. * Try reading the story aloud to practice pronunciation and fluency. * Consider recording yourself reading each story. By the time you reach Story 50, you'll be able to compare your recordings and see how much you've progressed! Whether you're a beginner or an advanced learner, the goal is simple: spend a little time with French regularly and enjoy the journey. **Bonne lecture et à bientôt ! 🇫🇷📚**

The primary reason for this meetup is for a friendly language exchange between English speakers and Chinese(all dialects) speakers. The end goal is to improve in the language that each person seeks to learn. The secondary reason is for an exchange of cultures(all cultures 😃).
