UXers Nature Walk and How We Can Create Social Impact

Fri, May 29, 2:00 PM
From UX for Change | London
4.7

The weather is getting absolutely gorgeous in London ☀️ It has been a long winter, and now it is time to go out and enjoy nature. Join us on this unique UXers Nature Walk and learn about the area we are focused on this year to drive social impact through our [Responsible Design for Change Fellowship](https://www.ux4change.org/responsible-design-for-change-fellowship/). Get a chance to meet our founder, Sandra Gonzalez, and some of the fellows who are currently enrolled in the third cohort of the Fellowship. This is a very lovely opportunity to connect with nature and our community. You are welcome to bring your pet and/or your children, especially if you are juggling half-term at the moment. We will end the walk at the Princess of Wales to share a drink and network a bit. We look forward to spending a lovely afternoon with you.

Games night – Second Serve

Games night – Second Serve

Fri, May 29, 6:00 PM
From Second Serve Social 🎾

Once a month, we slow things down. No courts. No rushing. Just good food, easy conversation, and a social that actually feels… social. This is the **Second Serve games night** — a more relaxed, sit-down version of the group. 📍 **Venue (Croydon / easy access)** We rotate between: * Cosy restaurants with bookable tables * Private/semi-private dining spaces * Quiet venues where we can actually hear each other (Final location shared after approval) 🕒 **Format (Monthly Saturday)** * **6:30 – 7:15pm** → Arrivals + dinner orders * **7:15 – 8:15pm** → Dinner & natural conversation * **8:15 – 9:45pm** → Games + guided social * Wrap up on time — no dragging the night out 🎲 **The Twist (What makes this different)** This isn’t just “dinner and hope for the best.” We structure it lightly so it never gets awkward: * Small tables (4–6 people max) * Subtle **table rotations** (optional, not forced) * Simple games that spark conversation, not competition 💬 **Conversation Style** No cringe icebreakers. We use light prompts that are easy to answer and easy to build on. 👥 **Who this is for** * People who don’t want loud, chaotic nights * People who actually want to talk and connect * People who prefer structure over randomness ✅ **Approval & Attendance** * RSVP approval required * Limited seats (kept intentionally small) * Priority goes to consistent attendees 👉 If you RSVP, we expect you there (No-shows affect future approvals) **The vibe** A proper social. Not loud. Not forced. Not endless. Just a good evening, done right. *Pictures and Videos may be taken for marketing purposes.* *All attendees consent to the use of their pictures by The* Second Serve Social 🎾

Litter Pick - Downham Woodland Walk (SE London)

Litter Pick - Downham Woodland Walk (SE London)

Sat, May 30, 10:00 AM
From Eco Around Community
5.0

Join the Eco Around Community for a litter-pick walk in Downham, facilitated by Biljana. Downham Woodland Walk is a local nature reserve and a narrow strip of mostly ancient woodland. It's part of the Green Chain Walk and stretches for about a mile. Rich in flora and fauna, it’s home to old oak and ash trees and a variety of birds. The area is frequently enjoyed by Downham residents and their pets. While maintained by Lewisham Council, contributing to the nature reserve's additional clear-up would be much appreciated. **When:** Saturday, 30 May, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm **Where:** The litter pick will start at the Moorside Rd entrance to Downham Woodland Walk, and we’ll make our way through to the Oakridge Rd exit near Barnardo’s. Use the What3Words navigation below to see the exact meeting points. Start: what3words: [///flown.rounds.agents](https://w3w.co/flown.rounds.agents) Finish: what3words: [///famous.drag.tuned](https://w3w.co/famous.drag.tuned) We are planning to have some optional drinks/food afterwards, most likely at the Beckenham Place Park. **How to dress and what to bring:** Appropriate footwear, no open-toed shoes and we recommend some waterproofs (just in case). We have some gloves, bin bags and litter pickers but feel free to bring your own and a refillable water bottle in case you get thirsty. Hand Sanitiser is also useful. **Updates:** Unless there is a heavy rain forecast, we will stick to our plans. Please check the event for updates. **Photo Consent:** We plan to take general pictures and a group picture to document the activity and help us promote future online events. If you wish not to be in the pictures, let us know.

ConsciousCafe London Dinner

ConsciousCafe London Dinner

Wed, May 27, 5:30 PM
From ConsciousCafe London
4.7

ConsciousCafe invites you to join our next London Dinner which will be held in Central London. You will have the opportunity to meet likeminded conscious people and chat over a meal in a relaxed atmosphere. Many beautiful friendships and connections have been created at our London lunches and dinners. We love it when we see people exchanging their contact details as they leave. There is always a special bond when you enjoy deep conversations together. We choose restaurants which are good value for money with a selection of dishes to suit all dietary requirements. You will receive your own bill at the end of the meal and will only pay for what you have ordered. We reckon a budget of £20 - £35 should cover your meal. We know we are getting it right when people ask us at the end of the lunch – or dinner – ‘when is the next one?’ So far this has happened every time. If you would like to come to our May Lunch please send a non-refundable deposit of £5 per person to book your place. This covers our administration costs for the event. If places are sold out please email Judy@consciouscafe.org to go on the waiting list as sometimes guests cancel at the last moment. Places are limited so please book as soon as you can to reserve your seat at the table. During the meal you will have the chance to move around and meet different people. If you want to invite a conscious friend to come with you of course that’s fine but this is a spiritual networking event so be prepared to connect with other people and not just talk to the person you have come with. If you do make a booking for two tickets please let us know the name and contact details of your friend. **[BOOK VIA OUR WEBSITE](https://consciouscafe.org/event/consciouscafe-london-dinner-6/)** *** *‘I felt really welcome, comfortable, and met many great connections. The place was nice and the food delicious’ **ES*** *‘This lovely leisurely lunch meetup was a great opportunity to connect with likeminded souls around the table. As well as the richness of our conversations, I cam away with some new connections.’* **HD** *‘I left the lunch feeling uplifted and inspired.’* **CR** *‘It was such a lovely group.’* **SU** *‘Interesting people, lovely food and great atmosphere. Looking forward to the next one already.’* **TK** *‘I love the opportunity to talk about my work with people who understand what I do.’* **JS, energy healer** *‘I always look forward to your dinners. They are such a treat.’* **BD**

Curbing CO2: don't forget shipping

Curbing CO2: don't forget shipping

Mon, Jun 8, 7:00 PM
From SW London Humanists UK | Humanism SW London Richmond England
4.4

Emissions from ships contribute more to global warming than the entire economy of a major country such as the UK. Yet over 90% of global trade relies on them. We're fortunate to have **Claudene Sharp-Patel,** Global Technical Director at Lloyd’s Register Marine and Offshore, to give us an expert view from the top of the industry on what is/can be done on this important, but less discussed, aspect of emissions reduction. Claudene is a unique leader. She was the first woman in the world to earn a chief engineer’s combined motor and steam qualification. Since then she has had a distinguished career ranging across the world of shipping, and remains a passionate advocate for women in the maritime industry. If you can't make it in person, **you can participate online** using this Zoom link (no need to sign-up): [https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82097538417?pwd=WmhPZ1dDTzlKNkNXN2I4dmRoUFpjQT09](https://swlhumanists.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=c9f319a12e9553cb29dad449b&id=05e545f65c&e=43fa228cc1)

In-Person Systemic & Family Constellations Evening Workshop

In-Person Systemic & Family Constellations Evening Workshop

Mon, Jun 1, 5:30 PM
From London Family Constellations
4.9

**Space is limited so book and pay early to avoid disappointment.** This evening workshop provides a perfect opportunity to experience the deep and insightful Systemic Constellations process in an intimate group setting. A unique and powerful therapeutic method for self-exploration, understanding core behaviours, removing blocks, and reintroducing movement and growth. It is used as a major resource in supporting healthy relationships, working through trauma, and assisting in depression treatment. **Issue Holder (client) and Representative spaces are available, please follow the link to book:** **For Representative (Participant) Booking £35** **[https://calendly.com/illiadato/in-person-family-constellations-evening-workshop](https://calendly.com/illiadato/in-person-family-constellations-evening-workshop)** **For Issue Holder (Client) Booking £175:** If you wish to attend as an Issue Holder at this workshop and have your own Constellation done please email your request to: [ih@londonconstellations.uk](http://ih@londonconstellations.uk/) Read comments of workshop participants here: [https://bit.ly/33Asprs](https://bit.ly/33Asprs) **WHAT ARE SYSTEMIC CONSTELLATIONS?** The Systemic Constellations method is a unique therapeutic process of exploration of the forces that move us in life. Such forces are often appearing as difficulties or a sense of being 'stuck' in life, affecting our behaviour, relationships, career, health/wellbeing, or even financial circumstances. This method provides a three-dimensional ‘map’ of one’s life as it is at present. It is a simple yet powerful way to explore entanglements and blockages in our personal life and our family history. The method brings awareness and clarity into personal challenges by focusing the client on the root cause of such difficulties. Constellations provide an opening for a positive life shift and present ways for deep healing processes to occur. **WHAT HAPPENS IN A CONSTELLATION SESSION?** In Constellations work the ‘client’ is referred to as the ‘Issue Holder’. The method uses workshop participants as ‘Representatives’ to stand in for key people in the client’s life such as family members, colleagues, partners, ex-partners, etc., sometimes ‘abstract’ concepts such as an emotion, country of origin, religion, or destiny are also represented. All participants are invited to take part as Representatives. Workshop participants often report (see reviews: [https://bit.ly/33Asprs](https://bit.ly/33Asprs)) experiencing profound insights into their own lives by simply witnessing the process, regardless of how they choose to take part. **WHY DOES THIS WORK?** Scientific research shows that the experiences of your ancestors can determine your behaviour today and affect future generations.\*\* Recent scientific research into DNA reveals that a component named epigenetics is embedding the effect of a traumatic experience by altering the genetic structure. It means that some of our behaviour patterns can be attributed to traumatic events in our family history. This notion has always been one of the guiding principles of Systemic / Constellations Therapy, a form of work that is dedicated to exposing and dealing with issues emerging from our family system. *“It is only now that science is catching up with what is evident in Systemic Constellations work and visible in every one of our therapy sessions; trauma in the family history directly affects future generations' behaviour"* Illi Adato MD Our group provides a safe space where deep personal work is done and where maintaining confidentiality and respect for each other's privacy is paramount. **\*\* DNA research paper and news articles:** Discover - Grandma's Experiences Leave a Mark on Your Genes [https://bit.ly/3dLwEkK](https://bit.ly/3dLwEkK) BBC News - "Memories" pass between generations [http://bbc.in/1dNShPe](http://bbc.in/1dNShPe) **Facilitated by Illi Adato** MA Lon\.
