Hike and Reflect - Wandern und Austausch
Sat, Oct 24, 7:30 AM🥾 Hike & Reflect Hiking together, spending time outdoors, having good conversations and simply seeing what develops along the way. We usually meet on Saturday mornings and explore beautiful hiking routes around Berlin that are easy to reach by regional train or public transport. Most hikes take around 4–5 hours and cover approximately 15–20 km. 🌿 What happens along the way From time to time, I will bring in reflection questions, conversation prompts or simple exercises. Sometimes we might practise really listening to each other, explore a personal question, look at something from a different perspective or simply experience nature more consciously. We might also try a short partner exercise or walk a small section with our eyes closed. Everything is optional. You are just as welcome to come along, enjoy the landscape, meet new people and be part of the group without joining every exercise or conversation. 💬 The coaching element I am a certified systemic coach with around 12 years of corporate experience. I bring some of my coaching background into the questions, exercises and overall structure of the hikes. At the same time, this is not about me coaching everyone. The idea is to create a space where people can learn from each other, share experiences, listen properly and discover new perspectives through conversation. I provide a few impulses and a loose framework. The group creates the rest. 🤝 What Hike & Reflect is about Movement, nature, meeting people and having conversations that we often do not make enough time for in everyday life. Sometimes the conversations may become thoughtful, sometimes they will be light and funny, and sometimes we may simply walk next to each other for a while. We will see what happens. 👟 Who is it for? Anyone who enjoys being outdoors, meeting new people and likes the idea of combining hiking with a little more reflection and conversation. The hikes are designed for different fitness levels, although 15–20 km does require a basic level of fitness and being comfortable walking for several hours.

Park Volley ☀️ 🏐 🌴 @ Hasenheide
Sat, Oct 10, 2:00 PM**Join us for outdoor grass volleyball in Hasenheide park!** This event is not suitable for complete beginners. We play with two nets. The "chill court" is for mixed-level play with 3v3 up to 5v5. The "competitive court" is for higher-level 2v2 play with beach rules. Be sure to wear suitable sports clothing, and consider bringing a drink. **Location**: We play in the narrow clearing, located between the two paths in the center of Hasenheide park, on the southern side. We'll post updates in the WhatsApp group. **Facilities:** The park has no facilities such as changing rooms or showers. A nearby public toilet is also available, but it may be closed, dirty, or out of toilet paper. **RSVP**: Add yourself to the waitlist, even if others are already on it. The waitlist is not chronological, so even if there are 30 people on there, you still have a chance! If you get a spot, you will be moved to the attending list and notified by Meetup. This is a free event with limited space. **If you can't make it, promptly update your RSVP to NO** so others can take your place. If you do not show up or cancel last minute, you will be marked as a no-show, reducing your chances of getting off the waitlist in the future. **Payment:** This event is free, but you are invited to make a 2 EUR donation towards equipment. **Attending**: Do not join if you have an infectious disease. You must be on the attendee list to attend; being on the waitlist is not enough. Do not bring friends who are not on the attendee list. **Showing up without having a valid RSVP will get you banned**. **Safety**: Mind the terrain. The grass might be uneven and contain items such as bottle caps. It is not suitable for diving or playing like on a beach. Be careful not to twist your ankle. Keep an eye on your belongings since we are in a public park. We do *not* have a full first aid kit available. Please inform the organizer of any medical conditions that might require attention during the event. Some things you *might* want to bring: \* Sunglasses \* Drink \* Snacks \* Insect spray \* Sunscreen \* Toilet paper, if you wish to use the public toilet Follow us on Insta at [https://www.instagram.com/berlinvolleyball](https://www.instagram.com/berlinvolleyball) Pictures might be taken and shared publicly, such as on Meetup or Instagram. @ Anna Blume - A cozy book swap and chat meetup!
Fri, Oct 16, 5:00 PMThe "classical" bookswap is simple: * We meet in a café and put the book(s) we brought down on the tables. * We go around to browse and discuss the books with one another while sipping coffee or hot chocolate, or eating cake. * We write our names down on any books we’d like to take home (post-its and pens provided). * At the end of the evening, negotiate any books that are contended and take a new-to-you book home! Books/happiness shared are books/happiness multiplied! A Bookswap is 10 times better than a Book Club because you can talk about ALL the books instead of just one! This is a great way to give your books a new home and make room for new books: that book you feel guilty for not having read even though it's been sitting on your bedside table for the last 5 years, the book you liked but didn't love, the book you loved so much you want everyone to read it, the book you somehow own three copies of, that book you absolutely hated even though everyone else loves it, and so on. Moreover, you will meet fellow readers, get a new book or two, and several book recommendations. We’ve often had readers experience books they wouldn't normally buy and enjoy it. GROUP EXPECTATIONS for PLEASANT SWAPPING * Please bring a book! It's not that you bring one you take one, but do try your best to bring something. * Books stay on the tables, open for sharing, until you are ready to leave so that everyone can have a look. We are notably not first come first serve. Please wait until you are leaving to bag the book. * If two or more people want the only copy of a book, negotiate. Maybe one of you reads it first and then gives it to the others. Or perhaps they have found another book instead. Or leave it to fate and toss a coin. The best part: now you have found somebody whose taste you can really admire. In any case, please don't walk away with a book with several names on it without letting the others know. These negotiations are fun and easy, so don't shy away from a book because there's already a name on it, and feel free to put your name on as many books as you find interesting. It's not that you bring one you take one; you may take as many as you can negotiate. * Political discussions with consent: make sure the people you are talking to would like to have a political discussion with you. * Please respect this space as first and foremost a community for connecting readers over their love of books and reading, stories, and narratives of all sorts. Please be respectful of tastes and opinions. * If something is bothering you, please reach out to the organizers, and we'll do our best to resolve it. * Lastly, don't expect your book back. It will find a new home. If you love it, let it go. Major LANGUAGES (and genres) of this meetup: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian; Fiction, Non-Fiction, Serious Reading, Light Fun, “classics", Krimis, Booker winners, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Self-Help and more. You never know who can read what languages, and there's no accounting for taste. We are a delightful and international group of readers. We look forward to swapping with you!

Chill Beach Volley 🏐 Funkhaus ☀️
Sun, Oct 11, 2:00 PMJoin us for chill **outdoor** beach volley at **Funkhaus Beach**! 🏐 🏐 🏐 ☀️ This event is for everyone who enjoys chill games and is not a *complete* beginner (A1.5+). We play 3v3 (or 4v4) with beach rules. There are no trainers at this event. Register via [the simultaneous event](https://www.meetup.com/berlin-volley/events/) for higher-level 2v2 matches (F1+). After playing, you can join us for socials with drinks and snacks at the bar area. We often play a social deduction game, which you're also welcome to join. It's recommended that you come 10 minutes early so you have time to change and find the fields. If it is your first time, 15 minutes might be even better. You can join whatever court you like and move between courts during the event. We self-organize, so once you finish a game, you can start a rematch, mix with another court, or take a break as you see fit. Upon arrival, join the warmup happening on one of the courts. Follow us on Insta at [https://www.instagram.com/berlinvolleyball](https://www.instagram.com/berlinvolleyball) **Rules**: Do not join if you have an infectious disease. For everyone's safety, we do not allow kicking the ball during games with beginners. Be respectful of your fellow players. **Venue**: We play **at [Funkhaus](https://sporthaus-berlin.net/)**, outside ☀️. Changing rooms are available in the nearby Paddle hall. **Payment**: You pay in advance via Meetup. Payment via PayPal or Urban Sports Club is not possible. **Refunds**: The venue does not provide refunds. Thus, we cannot refund you either, even if the event is canceled due to bad weather. If you know you can't make it in advance, you can try selling your spot to someone else via WhatsApp or the comment section. In the rare cases that we cancel an event due to poor attendance, everyone gets a full refund. Pictures might be taken and shared publicly, such as on Meetup or Instagram.
