Spooktacular Halloween Matinee

Clarion celebrates its 10th year as a performing arts center with a Halloween haunted open house. Performers include musicians, poets, a tea master, students of Clarion Children's Theater, and a fun-for-all shadow puppet theater. Bring the whole family and participate in this joyous event. **FREE if you come in costume. Otherwise, you'll be CHARGED!**

Digger/Hockey Haven — Popular Imagination Film Club

A new film club for weirdos, alternatives, queer people, and anyone who wants to hang out and make friends! Independent movie theater film followed by dive bar debrief — come hang!! Creating a judgment-free space to share and workshop short films, music videos, passion projects, or works in progress with the BAVC Media community. There's no theme this time around, but spooky films are encouraged. Spanning the 1950s to the 2020s, Friedlander’s photographs of Maria constitute one of the longest extended portraits in the history of visual art. While the approximately 50 photographs chronicle the unfolding of the couple’s relationship, they simultaneously chart the evolution of Friedlander’s artistic vision. Get involved in a photography crawl or a live workshop right here in San Francisco and build your photography portfolio with hands-on coaching. Build an impressive portfolio that shows off your abilities as you gain confidence and skill with your equipment. As usual, we'll meet at 11 to give out the secret assignment for the day, and then give you all about 90 minutes to explore the area and carry out the assignment before coming together again to share our experiences. Feel free to use whatever equipment you want to fulfill the assignment. And we would love to see you post your images to the Meetup group page for the event so people can check out the gallery afterward. Come join for Wildwood, Laika's latest movie combining fantasy adventure with Portland, Oregon. Laika Studios is known for their gorgeous stop motion animation in their films Coraline and Kubo and the Two Strings. We will plan to meet around concessions at 7pm for brief introductions then we'll enjoy the movie.
