Meet Your Creative Monsters

Meet Your Creative Monsters

Wed, Jul 29, 11:00 PM
From The Poetic Toolbox Meetup Group

**Meet Your Creative Monsters — Toronto Workshop** **July 29th\, 7pm \| Toronto** Something keeps getting in the way of your creative work. You probably already know it isn't laziness or lack of talent. It's something more specific, more persistent, and more workable than that. In this workshop we call them monsters. Each one is a pattern your nervous system built to protect you, usually a long time ago, now quietly running in the background every time you sit down to make something. The Hibernator that freezes you before you start. The Pot Dweller that makes sharing feel dangerous. The Razor Eye that tells you nothing is ever good enough. Once you name yours, something shifts. Here's what happens in the room: We start with an introduction to the creative monsters framework, grounded in nervous system science and symbolic thinking. You'll hear about the most common patterns and start recognizing your own. Then we move into a hands-on exercise where you give your monster a shape, a voice, and a name. We close with a small group reflection and a ritual to begin changing your relationship with it. Past participants have described leaving feeling lighter, clearer, and surprisingly less alone in what they'd been carrying. This is a small group of 8-10 people maximum, which means everyone gets space to share and be heard. It's intimate by design. **Date:** Tuesday July 29th **Time:** 7pm **Location:** Toronto (exact address shared with ticket holders) **Price:** $75 **Spots:** Limited to 10 Facilitated by Cuau, filmmaker and founder of the Poetic Toolbox, who has run versions of this workshop with artists in Berlin and Japan. You can also purchase a ticket and learn more here: poetictoolbox.com/creativemonsterslive *** Grab your spot below. Questions welcome, just send a message through the group.

KEVPOP Poster Drop

KEVPOP Poster Drop

Sat, Jul 18, 3:00 PM
From KEVPOP Canada • 10K Art Lovers, Artists & Collectors
4.5

Something is about to appear in your city. A poster. Handmade. Hung somewhere a stranger might wander past and feel something good for a second. That stranger deserves it. So does your city. Here's the challenge: Make a poster. Draw it, paint it, print it, collage it - whatever feels like you. It can say something. It can say nothing. It just has to be the kind of thing that makes a stranger stop and smile. Need a prompt? Here are a few ideas: 🌥️ **MISSING: One Cloud** — Last seen drifting over your neighborhood around 3pm. Slightly dramatic. Very fluffy. If found, please just look at it for a moment. No reward. That's the reward. 👤 **FREE FRIEND** — Great listener. Occasionally funny. Will show up when you need them. No experience required. First come, first served. Call no one. Just be one. 💌 **DEAR STRANGER** — Today seemed like a good day to tell you: you're doing better than you think. Or make something completely your own. We just ask to make it family-friendly and joyful. **Then:** * Hang it somewhere public * Photograph it in the wild * Post it and tag **@KEVPOP** with **#KEVPOPPosterDrop** *If you want, you can write kevpop.com on the poster.* We're 10,000+ members across the Midwest, South, and Canada. Imagine what 10,000 little moments of joy look like hung around the world at the same time. Document it. Share it. Make it weird. Make it sweet. Make it yours. **This is free. This is for everyone. This is just for fun.** *KEVPOP is a joy brand. We make people smile.*
