Reclaiming our Human Future from Big Tech
Sat, Jul 18, 5:00 PMThis is the inaugural meeting of the Luddite Society of Toronto. A group that seeks to fight for a future where we can live as human beings, not just as consumers of digital "content". Resisting the agenda of the most powerful, wealthy, and influential industry in the world is not easy. And it is not something any of us can do on our own. It is only by working together that we have a chance to make a change. This initial meeting will deal primarily with three discussion topics: 1. How to fight back against big tech's narrative of an "inevitable" digital future 2. How to cultivate healthier digital media consumption habits 3. How to engage with non-digital forms of art, craft, and entertainment All are welcome! We simply ask that you show kindness and courtesy, engage with others respectfully, and follow the rules given by the event moderator. Thank you!
