For Bike Leichhardt RIDE LEADERS ONLY Meeting starts at 6.30pm in the EXECUTIVE MEETING ROOM at Wests Ashfield Liverpool Rd (aka Hume Hwy). This meeting will include the usual scheduling of Sunday rides for the next 3 months PLUS a brief summary of the recent Ride Leaders' and Participants' surveys. FYI. - Free undercover parking for cars and bikes. Walking distance to Ashfield station, also buses from city. 2 restaurants - order meals and you can have them in the EXECUTIVE MEETING ROOM upstairs on the floor above the restaurants while the meeting is in progress if you wish.

Four Bridges On the Parramatta River

We will ride over 4 major bridges on a trip along Parramatta River's north shore, crossing the Silverwater Bridge to return to Blackmore Oval via the southern shore The bridges are the Iron Cove Bridge, Gladesville Bridge, Silverwater Bridge and Bennelong Bridge. We will pause to reflect on the history of each bridge and at other points of interest along the way. The distance is approximately 40 km and with stops including a café, should take around 3½ hours. The route is undulating in places with some moderately steep but short grades. We will be mostly on off-road paths but some street riding is necessary where paths are not linked yet. Riders should have a bike in good mechanical order, carrying water and a spare tyre tube. Bike helmet essential.

Eastern Sydney Coastal Explorer

A relaxed morning bike ride with plenty of stops to catch your breath enjoy the fabulous harbour views and coastal scenery. *This ride starts early to avoid the traffic that builds up around the beaches and harbourside suburbs throughout the day.* We'll ride (easy pace, mostly on quieter streets and shared paths) along on- and off-road cycleways and back to Bondi Junction (ETA 11.30am). **Refer to the ride route map for a more detailed description.** *The ride will go ahead in a fine drizzle but not heavy rain - please check the site on the morning of the ride for any weather-related updates!* **You must RSVP in order to attend the ride.** Please make sure you UPDATE your RSVP if you cannot make it as nobody wants to be waiting for a no-show. **Disclaimer:** *By signing up for this event you acknowledge that you are personally responsible for your own safety, and that you are participating in the event entirely at your own risk. Do you live in Sydney's eastern suburbs? Do you want safer, quieter, and more attractive streets, where people riding bicycles can get around safely and easily? BIKEast is the bicycle user group (BUG) representing people on bicycles in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, stretching from South Head to La Perouse and west to the fringes of Sydney's CBD, Redfern, Green Square and Mascot. This area covers Woollahra, Waverley, Randwick and Bayside councils. We lobby local councils, the State Government, and the Transport agencies to provide better conditions for active travel. Our vision is for a high-quality, connected network of safe, convenient and visible bike routes accessed via bike-friendly (low speed) neighbourhood served by well-designed local bike routes. Attend a meeting if you want to get involved and help achieve this vision, or if you just want to find out who we are and what we do. Nominees must be current financial members of BIKEast. Nominations may be lodged at the AGM - subject to a mover and seconder who are also current financial members of BIKEast. Moore Park to Ramsgate RTN - 36k

An easy and relatively flat morning ride south through Waterloo, Alexandria, Mascot, around Sydney Airport and along the new cycle path through the Barton and Scarborough Park wetlands to Ramsgate where we stop for coffee/pastries. Much of the ride is on cycleways, otherwise along back streets, except for the first short stretch along Dacey Ave and South Dowling St. We meet at the Dacey Avenue Bus Shelter, Kensington (in front of the E S Marks Athletic Field) and leave from there promptly at 7:30 am. Alternatively - meet us at 7:45 am in front of The Grounds on the corner of Bourke Rd and Huntley St Alexandria. Medium pace (20kph av.) ETA return 10:30 am

Meet at 8.45am at Holbeach Ave, Tempe, car park. Be aware of parking restrictions. 38kms return loop ride, with time to explore the old coal loader tunnels and have coffee. A few little hills. Pastry & Pedals: Kings Cross Mkt Loop

**Ride Details** Date: Saturday, 8th August Meet Time: 8:00 AM Start/End Point: Holbeach Avenue Carpark, Tempe Distance: Approximately 30 km (return) Target Pace: Moderate 20 km/h cruising speed We'll roll out from Tempe and navigate through Mascot to link up with the start of the Bourke Street Cycleway. From there, it's a seamless, mostly separated run all the way north through Waterloo, Redfern, and Surry Hills, dropping right down into Woolloomooloo. Once at the bay, we’ll tackle the brief but punchy climb up into Potts Point, arriving right at Fitzroy Gardens. We are parking the bikes by the El Alamein Fountain to explore the vibrant Kings Cross Saturday Market - famous for exceptional artisan baked treats, fresh pastries, and boutique sweet treats. Grab a coffee, score a top-tier pastry, and relax by the fountain for breakfast. Heading home, we’ll cruise through the heart of Kings Cross and cut up through the elegant but hilly backstreets of Paddington We’ll cross over into Moore Park to pick up the green infrastructure tracks, eventually filtering back onto the Bourke Street Cycleway for a familiar, clear run all the way south to the cars at Holbeach Avenue. **Essential** **Checklist** Helmet: Mandatory (standard Australian compliance).
