AI, Art & Vibecoding - StrangeNew.World @ 310 Coffee

AI, Art & Vibecoding - StrangeNew.World @ 310 Coffee

Fri, Oct 30, 10:00 PM
From AI, Art & Vibecoding - StrangeNew.World
5.0

We frame ourselves as **"a support group for the technological singularity"** and we are an eclectic mix of open-minded thinkers, artists, and tinkerers who believe in embracing the emerging technologies and capabilities in the most humanitarian way possible. Our meetings have a super casual and open atmosphere where all are welcome to contribute. Feel free to come late or leave early. So whether you're an AI enthusiast or skeptic, a creative professional already using AI on the daily, or someone just starting their first vibe coding project, this group may be for you! **NOW NEW & IMPROVED** We are doing "Hack-a-salons" after every meeting (starting at 5pm) now that 310 Coffee is staying open later. So please bring your laptops or art projects, or works in progress that you have questions on or want to present to the group. No podiums... only passion projects, good people and great vibes! ☺️ **What to Expect** Interesting conversations, relevant content, and educational resources. We are a diverse community of people who want to help each other and the world around us. We meet in person once a week at **310 Coffee in Culver City from 3-5pm**, we share our work and interesting news in our Whatsapp group, put on remote Learning Labs, go to events together, and encourage our members (who have the availability) to participate in a learning collective where we can volunteer to give each other one-on-one crash courses in various artistic, technical, and entrepreneurial disciplines. Here is a list of what we can teach: [https://strangenew.world/labs/what-we-know](https://strangenew.world/labs/what-we-know) We also encourage each of our members to take on a Passion Project, which could be as simple as getting up and running with a new artistic medium or project, or as complex as laying the groundwork for your dream business or career. We believe there has never been a better time (at least in OUR lifetimes) to set your sights on what your ideal life would be two years from now and then just start moving toward it. And maybe we can help you do that by giving you the hand-holding you need to get over that first hump, which can sometimes be the most difficult part. **How to Give Back** If you are a member looking to give back, or if you like what our organization is doing, then please follow, subscribe, rate us, and smash that like! 🤣 I know it seems silly to many of you, but in the attention economy, just the act of following us, liking our posts, and reviewing our events can make a huge difference in how the algorithm shines upon us. Also, if you would like to support us in a more direct way, please consider giving us a one-time donation, subscribing to one of our tiers, or sponsoring us. We pay for a lot of stuff out of pocket, so please consider becoming a patron to support the overall longevity of our group and vision. [https://strangenew.world/support-us](https://strangenew.world/support-us) **More Information** What we explore during our meetings really depends on who shows up and what they want to discuss: * The changing job market. What skills will matter in 10 years * The future of business and the creative industries * Chatbots, LLMs, and Agentic Workflows * Using AI for scientific or artistic exploration * Will generative art destroy Hollywood or save it? * What is consciousness? What constitutes intelligence? * The various types/platforms of vibecoding and which is best for your project * The end of capitalism as we know it * Are we entering the 2nd Cognitive Revolution? **Learn more at: [https://strangenew.world](https://strangenew.world)**

Through real-world examples and case studies, we'll explore how productive tension, healthy debate, and adversarial collaboration can strengthen decision-making and help teams build better products. You'll hear examples of moments when the Product and Engineering partnership was challenged to reach a better outcome, along with the processes, conversations, and lessons that helped teams move forward with a shared vision. During the conversation, we'll explore: * How Product and Engineering teams can work together to bring roadmaps to life. * How leaders balance demand management with executive communication and storytelling. * The productive tension between business priorities and technical realities. * How ‘shared visioning’ can help Product, Engineering, Business, and IT leaders align around better outcomes. Come ready for a practical conversation about navigating disagreement, building stronger partnerships, and turning productive tension into better products. **Panel** * Bernadette Irizarry, VP Product & Design - Platform Experience * Julia King, Senior Vice President, Technology for Marketing and Distribution **Moderator** * Oded Noy, CTO - Crexi, Co-founder and chairman of CTO Forum **Bios** **[Bernadette Irizarry | LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/in/bernirizarry/ "https://www.linkedin.com/in/bernirizarry/")** Bernadette Irizarry is a digital innovator and transformational leader with over 20 years of experience across the media, non-profit, and tech sectors. The Cards You Collect: How Experience Shapes What You Build

The Cards You Collect: How Experience Shapes What You Build

Fri, Nov 6, 4:00 PM
From Friday Coffee Meetup
4.8

What if the experiences that seem completely unrelated are actually preparing you for what comes next? Ben Ikwuagwu’s path to entrepreneurship has been anything but linear. He spent nearly a decade in global supply chain at Dell and Apple and then pursued a very different path as a performer—leading Sweet Matcha Band and playing stages including Carnegie Hall, ACL Live, and FOX. Today, he’s the Co-Founder and CEO of Soundcheck Live. Those chapters weren’t a branding story. They were the training and each experience gave Ben a different set of skills—or “cards”—that he eventually learned to play together. At this Friday Coffee Meetup, Ben will share how seemingly unrelated experiences, failures, and career pivots can become unexpected advantages when you’re building something new. He’ll take us inside his first year building Soundcheck and talk candidly about the pivots, the misses, what actually stuck, and what he’s learned about earning people’s trust and getting customers, investors, and teammates to believe in what you’re building. ### About Ben Ben Ikwuagwu is Co-Founder and CEO of Soundcheck Live, an operations platform for pro duction companies, agencies, and talent teams. Soundcheck helps live-event operators move beyond spreadsheets, group texts, and memory to manage and scale their businesses. Ben brings together experience across corporate operations, live entertainment, and technology to build tools for an industry he knows firsthand. ### Networking Come early to connect with fellow founders, technologists, creatives, and community members. Friday Coffee Meetup is as much about the people in the room as it is about the conversation on stage. **Accessibility:** FoundrSpace is located in a historic building without elevator access. If you require assistance, please email [pasadena@foundrspace.com](mailto:pasadena@foundrspace.com) and [admin@innovatepasadena.org](mailto:admin@innovatepasadena.org) by October 30.

live baking + audience chaos + special guests + questionable decisions ### **Bake Stuff with Lindsay** The most unhinged baking show you’ve never seen. Bake Stuff with Lindsay is a live, audience-immersive baking experience where chaos is encouraged and we actually eat the results. It’s a fever dream for anyone who’s ever wished TV bakers would loosen up, get messier, and curse a little (a lot) more. Along the way, we attempt to answer important questions like: Do feelings matter more than the recipe? and Does the 5 second rule count with liquids too? **What to expect:** *• Live baking (in real time, with real stakes)* *• Audience involvement throughout the show (games, prizes, FUN)* *• \*SPECIAL GUESTS\*, commentary, and mild spiraling* *• Questionable decisions, emotional detours, and laughter* *• Dessert served (assuming nothing is completely destroyed)* **Theme: HALLOWEEN TREATS** Featuring: Kyle Ayers (Sous Chef) and a panel of special guests! * **\*\*You must buy your ticket through the Eventbrite page [HERE](https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bake-stuff-with-lindsay-live-bakingcomedy-show-dessert-tickets-2002971464569) \*\***
