From ORIGINS THEATER WORKSHOPS - WHERE NEW WORKS ARE BORN
5.0

**ADVANCED STAGE & SCREEN CLASS** **THESE ARE WEEKLY WORKSHOPS FOR DEDICATED PROFESSIONALS** with working experience in theater, film or televsion. **THIS ADVANCED CLASS** is a true working space for actors who want to engage directly with their creative process, and not the result. Through guided experimentation, scene work, and development, actors collaborate directly with writers and directors - not simply interpreting material, but actively shaping it. The focus is to strengthen the actor's instrument: presence, real responsiveness, imagination, and concentration. The work is practical, rigorous and collaborative. Each session invites participants to explore text, create new works, and refine their craft. **THE WORK INVOLVES:** * Scene work in collaboration with writers and directors * Development of new material in the rehearsal process * Exploration of technique through active practice * Immediate and active feedback **THIS IS FOR:** **Professional level - experienced or trained** **APPROVAL REQUIRED** * Are interested in process, and not the outcome * Want to work in a professional and focused atmosphere * Are ready to engage as collaborators **APPROACH: THIS IS A WORKING LABORATORY** **ACTORS ARE EXPECTED** * to participate actively * to take creative risks * Contribute to a shared process **ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:** Tomislav is a versatile storyteller with a rich backgound in writing, directing and teaching. He received his masters degree in writing and directing at Columbia University in 1993, and worked with well known directors David Lynch, Emir Kusturica, and Martin Scorsese. He is also a lifetime member of the Actors Studio in New York which shaped his process in helping actors stengthen their craft.

Open Clown Workshop (PWYW) in English • Every Other Sunday

Open Clown Workshop (PWYW) in English • Every Other Sunday

Sun, Jul 12, 1:00 PM
From English Comedy in Barcelona
4.6

Join us every other Sunday for the Open Clown Workshop at The Comedy Clubhouse Barcelona. Whether you’re an experienced clown wanting to exercise your clowning muscles or a complete beginner full of curiosity this workshop is for you. Sessions will usually focus on one particular aspect of clown for example: bafflement, befriending uncertainty, staying curious, freedom in failure, connecting with your pleasure, finding the game, eye contact with the audience. Our usual workshop teachers are experienced clowns who perform regularly in Barcelona and around the world. They have either trained with the legendary clown master Philipe Gaulier; performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival; organised their own cabaret shows; or have experience of developing clown numbers elsewhere. While every teacher has different strengths and exercises they’ll share, each workshop is designed to inspire you and help develop your skills as a comedic performer. This is a great place to meet new people, play games, have fun & learn new skills! The session lasts from 15.00 until 17:30 and it operates as a Pay What You Want workshop (suggested donation between 5 and 15 euros). It takes place at the Comedy Clubhouse on Via Laietana (be careful because there are two Comedy Clubhouses! It does not take place at the one on Carrer Canvis Nous!)
