UPDATE: Time changed from 7:30pm to 7:20pm, this is just because of their booking system that works in 20min blocks, so the options were 7:00, 7:20, 7:40, 8:00 etc etc

Let’s take a tasty trip through time at one of the oldest establishments in Worcester City Centre. Built in 1577 the King Charles House is steeped in history, serving civilians scran since the seventies. The 1970s that is, not the 1570s.

Throughout time the building has served many purposes, such as a guest house, a Judge's residence, an antique shop and a furniture store. But it's main claim to fame is for being the headquarters of King Charles II during the Battle of Worcester 1651, the last major battle of the English Civil War.

But we're not attending this legendary eatery for a history lesson, we're going for the fantastic food. Renowned for their homemade Pies with Mash, the menu also includes many a traditional pub classic such as Bangers & Mash, Fish & Chips, Lamb Shank and Steak.
Vegan options are also available.

Back to where it all began. Given the success of our very first event I thought we would re-visit The Danesbury, to feast once again on their succulent steaks and sumptuous sides. Don’t worry, I’m not running out of ideas 😉.

Respected and renowned Head Chef Harry Milbourne and team would love to welcome us back (I hope) to their exceptional, exquisite eatery for a nutritious November night.

Whilst Thursday nights are their Steak Night, the full a la carte menu will still be available, with some tasty looking vegan and vegetarian options for the non-carnivores in the group.

Sourced from the finest fields (for cattle) of Herefordshire, Chef Milbourne presents the best local(ish) cuts of Flat Iron, Sirloin and my favourite Ribeye for us to enjoy. Cuts complemented with incredible sides, including Beef Dripping Chips, Grilled Purple Sprouting Broccoli and Grilled Wye Valley Asparagus. Make it saucy with Cafe de Paris, Peppercorn or Salsa Verde sauces. After we've munched on our magnificent mains, a desirable dessert menu awaits, adding a sweet touch to a cosy late Autumn evening.

An extensive drinks menu of cocktails, beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks ensures you won't go thirsty.

Expect to pay a minimum of £30, and a tip, unless the service is horrendous, which it shouldn't be🤞

Our gastronomic world adventure continues, around Worcester city centre, with our first foray into Thai cuisine at Thai on 7evern in Sidbury.

Opening its doors donkey's year ago, Thai on 7evern has remained a staple ingredient in Worcester's burgeoning culinery scene, serving delicious Thai food to hungry mouths for many moons.

This is the only restaurant for the dining club that I have not tried before. Though a few members have assured me of its excellence, so I thought we could give it a go.

Currently rated 4.7 on both Google and Tripadvisor, Thai on 7evern offers an authentic and generous menu containing many classic Thai dishes and curries. There really is something for everyone, even fussy gits like me!

Could possibly up the attendee number to 8 if the demand is there.
