West Midlands Events and Activities

We are a friendly membership club. The club has been running for several years and was set up to provide a wide range of social opportunities for people across the West Midlands, including theatre, cinema, or musical concerts, meals out, pub nights, walks and visits to historic sites, coffee mornings, croquet, a Book Club, and many other things.   The club is run by members for members, and all members are encouraged to host events and to enter them onto our Meetup page.  We have a small committee who meet from time to time to ensure the club is run according to its constitution, but it is members who make it work and keep it going.  We belong to a national group of social clubs, AIVC, which also gives us access to some events organised by other clubs, including weekends away and holidays.
We want the club to remain a safe space, and with that aim, we ask prospective new members to attend at least one event and to supply a minimum of information such as their name (and Meetup name), plus contact details and address. At whatever event they attend we will ask to see some photo identification, proof of address, and require payment of a small annual membership fee ( currently £10), before ratifying their membership. This pays for Meetup membership etc.
We hold and store the minimum personal information , accessible to the minimum number of people necessary to enable the running of the Club (we can supply a copy of our GDPR Policy on request).  
Whilst the average age of the current membership is over 50, we welcome new members of all ages.
