For this month's book, we will read:
Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes (full novel).
At the meetup, we will informally discuss the book and related topics like:

• Intelligence and Happiness
• Identity and Self-Discovery
• Ethics of Science and Experimentation
• Isolation and Human Connection

I'll also bring a couple of board games or icebreaker ideas to kick things off!

Every other month, there will be a book club meetup - aimed mainly at people in their 20s & 30s, or anyone who vibes with that energy. A chance to meet new people, chat about books in a low-pressure way, and enjoy a drink together.

Those who joined a previous book club or poetry meetup will have a vote in the next book choice!

Bring a poem that you have enjoyed to share with the group. Listen to the poems that others have enjoyed.

This evening’s theme is Gothic - poems of darkness and desire, shadows and ruins, haunting beauty and lingering ghosts.

We will start with a short icebreaker or game to get to know each other. Balderdash or Poetry for Neanderthals are always fun!

Then we can take turns reading out our chosen poems and passing them round, discussing each one informally. No pressure to read out if you don't feel like it. Since this will be in a wine bar, you can of course enjoy a drink too!
