Vedauwoo Hikers

Join staff from the UW Planetarium for our final night sky star party of the summer! We'll use lasers to draw the summer constellations, telescopes for observing, and astro-photography to reveal deep-sky objects! Please bring a flashlight/headlamp(with a red light setting if possible), bug spray, appropriate clothing layers for an evening program, and a camping chair to relax in. This program will run until about 10PM or 10:30PM. We hope to see you there! This is free, but you'll need to cover your park entry fee of $7-$12.

I've explored this trail before, so I'm familiar with the route. We will start at the Mount Margaret Trailhead at 3:00 pm (near the Red Feathers Lakes, Colorado). We will then fork off to the west to circle Dowdy Lake. I think dogs are allowed (I'm unsure of the leash laws there). Bring a daypack: a lunch, trail snacks, plenty of water, a jacket, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, etc. We will relax at the lake for a late lunch. Most of us are willing to carpool, so reach out to someone if you want to save gas.
