Welcome to The Wild Table!
The Wild Table is a community for curious diners, food lovers, and adventurous spirits who believe that sharing a meal is one of life's greatest pleasures. Whether we're discovering Calgary's newest restaurants, revisiting local favorites, exploring hidden gems, or gathering around a table for good conversation, our goal is simple: connect great people through great food.
This group is more than just dining out. It's about community, learning, laughter, and creating memorable experiences together. Everyone is welcome, whether you're a seasoned foodie, new to the city, or simply looking to meet interesting people who enjoy good company.
The Wild Table is a labor of love, and keeping our Meetup group active comes with an annual cost of approximately $400 in subscription fees. To help cover these expenses, you'll occasionally see fundraising events or optional contribution opportunities posted throughout the year.
If you've enjoyed the group, met new friends, discovered great restaurants, or simply appreciate having this community available, please consider contributing when you're able. Every little bit helps and is greatly appreciated.
100% of funds collected will go toward the costs of running the Meetup group. If we raise more than is needed for the annual subscription, any extra funds will be put right back into the community through member appreciation events and small treats at gatherings, such as shared appetizers or other fun surprises.
My hope is that this remains a fair and reasonable way for all of us to help support a group that brings people together around great food, good conversation, and memorable experiences.

Bar Chouette (Paid Event Full)
Bar Chouette, 227 11 Avenue SW,, Calgary, AB, CAA $15 deposit required to RSVP (restaurant charges a deposit fee for reservations).
Bar Chouette is a French-influenced, contemporary restaurant and cocktail bar located in the heart of the Beltline. The idea was inspired by the exploration of tried-and-true traditions with a modern twist. Our focus is on simplicity - done in nostalgic, but unconventional ways. Our food and beverage program is crafted in ways that will instill intrigue and curiosity - with experimentation on familiar foundations.
At Bar Chouette, you will find a collaboration between old-world and new-world - where you can immerse yourself in eclectic but comforting surroundings. We aim to be a place where friends and neighbors can gather, socialize, and explore a variety of different tastes in a warm, exciting, and vibrant setting.

PROCESS FOR ATTENDING
Step 1:
This event is limited to 8 people.
Please send a $15 refundable deposit to **deposit4myspot@gmail.com** with password "deposit" and add yourself to the Waitlist.
Step 2:
Once deposit is received, Jessica will then update your RSVP status to “Going.”
NOTE: Spots will be given for those who send deposit first vs RSVP'ing first. I will not deposit your funds if event is full.
Step 3:
If you cancel before noon (12:00 PM) on Wednesday Sept 23, 2026, your deposit will be refunded. Make sure to message Jessica with email address to return deposit to.
Step 4:
If you cancel after noon (12:00 PM) on Wednesday Sept 23, 2026, or do not show up to the event, your deposit will be used to help cover the cost of the Meetup site subscription.
Step 5:
You will receive your deposit back at the event.

Let's Brunch! Palomino Smokehouse
Palomino Smokehouse, 109 7th Ave SW, T2P 0W5, Calgary, AB, CAThis event has no deposit. Please note that cancellations within 24 hours or no shows will risk being removed from this group. Those on waitlist are expected to attend if they get bumped in before noon on October 3rd. Feel free to bring a friend, we have lots of room!
Palomino is one of my favourite brunch sports in town. Brisket and eggs, you just can't go wrong. Not to mention they have amazing bacon, hashbrowns, heck even their toast is amazing! If you have a CJSW card, brunch is 50% off!!!
Starting Oct 2026, CJSW will be selling their discount cards for a donation (last year was $35). The best deal on this card is the 50% off palomino brunch. 2026 cards for sale here - $35 Donation – CJSW Radio (keep in mind the current card expires at the end of Oct 2026). I will post the 2027 card purchase link in the discussion below when it is available.

Parking can be a challenge; I find parking on 6th or 10th Aves or taking the train are the best bets.

Centre Street Japanese Hotpot
Centre Street Japanese Hotpot, 2213 Centre St N #2243, Calgary, AB T2E 2T4, Calgary, AB, CAWe have been seeing no shows at every event this year. To combat this, I am putting a $5 deposit requirement on those who are new to my events.
Regular attendees - there is no deposit for you, but please honour your RSVP or update before the deadline.
Newbies (<3 events) - please send $5 refundable deposit to deposit4myspot@gmail.com with secret code "deposit". This will be returned to you if you cancel before the October 7 noon cut off time or when you attend.
