What we’re about
A group for folks in their 20s and 30s in the Rockville, Bethesda, Germantown, Gaithersburg area. While there will be Meetups, the plan is to integrate this group with a Discord server so folks can keep in touch and connect for activities they are interested in. Possible activities include:
- Hiking
- Bowling
- Movie nights
- Coffee and conversation
- Board games
- D&D / tabletop RPGs
- Reading club
- Professional networking and development
- Trivia nights
- Going out to farmer's markets or other local events
Rules and Code of Conduct
Please be courteous and change your RSVP to NO if you cannot make an event, especially for events with limited spots.
To gain an invite to the Discord server, you must attend an event in person.
The purpose of this group is to network, build a local community, go out to fun activities together, and make friends. The key rule is don’t be a jerk.
Meetup groups are open to all and should provide an environment in which diverse participants may enjoy the company of others. All forms of harassment are prohibited, and specific prohibited behaviors include but are not limited to the following:
- Harassment or intimidation based on gender, gender identity, gender expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, political orientation and views, religion (or lack thereof), or other group status
- Unwelcome behavior or comments related to the above categories that create a hostile environment (e.g., sexist or racist jokes, slurs)
- Sexual harassment or intimidation
- Stalking
- Monopolizing attention or otherwise disrupting an event
- Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior
Enforcement
Any attendee asked to stop harassing behavior or other behavior in violation of the Code of Conduct is expected to comply immediately. The meetup organizer reserves the right to take actions in order to keep the event a welcoming environment for all participants. These actions may range from simply warning the offender to asking that person to leave.
Reporting
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please report this to the host or meetup organizer immediately (on the group home page, click on “about us” and then “read more” to find the button to message the organizer).
Right to Update
The organizer may change or update this Code of Conduct at any time.
