The Glasgow Photography Meetup welcomes anyone who enjoys taking pictures, regardless of experience. If you are keen to meet up with fellow photographers to exchange ideas, talk about and take pictures, The Glasgow Photography Club is for you.
As a group we have a special interest in people in pictures and portraiture, as well as a comprehensive list of meetups ranging from landscape, street and anything else you care to try out. Let us know the kind of meetups you would like to get involved in, and we will try to arrange events that are of interest.
If you add your attendance to a meetup, please do remember to change your RSVP to let us know if you can no longer make the event. Anyone who fails to do this on more than three occasions will be taken off the members list.

If you have an external flash for your camera but don't know what you're doing with it and want to practise using it on a person, this event is for you!
We can help you get set up:
- Metering for and balancing flash with ambient light
- Choosing and using flash modifiers (softboxes etc.)
- Knowing where to put flashes
- Using more than one flash
- Technical bits like triggers, sync speeds and more.
- We can even have a go at slow motion, capturing movement, if people would like to experiment.
Just come along and we will help you with anything you would like to know. This event is suitable for complete beginners to flash photography, or more advanced photogpraphers who would like to experiment with lighting and flash.
If you don't have any equipment besides your camera, do not worry, as we will have flashes and modifiers for you to use.
To put your newfound knowledge into action, we will have a professional model who will have (or appear to) endless patience while you take your shot😊
We aim to have two experts at this event to help you practise and hone your skills in flash photography.The fee for this event is £65 per hourly slot or £120 for two hours.

Refunds will be given if the event is cancelled. When an event is arranged, the booked models have to be paid whether the event goes ahead or not. This also applies to venues. Join us at Govan Old Parish Church on Saturday 12th October form 11:30 to 14:30, where we will be joined by lots great models in fancy/spooky dress, along with special guest stars, the Steampunks. We will have an array of models at this event, so lots of opportunities to get some great shots.
The venue for this spectacular is a great Victorian Gothic Gothic Church in Govan, and will make a superb backdrop for photographs. There is also an attached graveyard(see images attached)

If you are interested in photographing people, this would be great opportunity to take pictures of models and other interesting characters. Unlike street photography, we have a succession of willing subjects! Always good if you're a wee bit shy😉and great for the portfolio.
Although not strictly a tutored shoot, experts will be on hand to help with setup and advise. The event is suitable for those who are relatively new to model shoots as well as more seasoned photographers. Newbies are very welcome and encouraged to come along . This would be a great opportunity to try your hand at a model shoots if you have never ventured into that area before. There will be a wide range of models including Lara, a classically trained ballerina, who will be striking a pose in her witchy outfit. This event will help you hone your sills as a portrait photographer and you should get some great shots. As all good photographers know, a good model makes our job easy. The professionals know how to strike a pose with little or nod direction.
We encourage a friendly and collaborative atmosphere at our events. On the day you will have access to a variety of lighting equipment and advice. Feel free to bring along any equipment of your own too.

On the day you will be working on no more than a 1:3 model to photogprahr ratio (usually less) You will have a great mix of models to photograph.Little Red Foxes events are friendly and fun. We encourage a collaborative atmosphere and there will always be someone on hand to help.

The price is £45 per hourly slot. The entire session can be booked for £115.
You can secure your booking with a deposit of £10 per hourly slot, with the balance payable one month prior to the event.

If for any reason you are unable to attend an event, we may be able to offer you a spot, free of charge, on a future shoot. This is at the discretion of the organiser. We cannot accommodate requests for specific events. An Organiser will notify you of any availability.
