Welcome to The Geek Bank Derby! 🚀
Do you love all things geeky? Are you looking for a friendly space to make new friends and share your passions? Whether you're into gaming, sci-fi, crafts, or just grabbing a coffee and chatting about your latest obsession, you've found your people.
Run by neurodivergent owners and proudly LGBTQIA+ friendly, we are all about creating a fun, safe, and genuinely inclusive community for adults (18+) in the East Midlands.

What we do

We host a wide variety of in-person and online events, including:

• Gaming & Cinema: Board gaming, retro & modern arcades, online/in-person D&D, computer games, and our Geek Bank Presents cinema club at QUAD.
• Socials & Culture: Film nights, coffee meets, food nights & markets, coffee crawls, museum visits, day trips, live music (Derby, Belper, Nottingham, Sheffield), karaoke, and local festivals.
• Creative & Community: Cosy crafts and writing events, poetry nights, quizzes, philosophy meets, knowledge networking, arts festivals, and Geek Exchanges.

Group guidelines & Info

• Location: This group is primarily for those local to the East Midlands so you can easily attend events in person.
• Profile Requirements: To keep our community safe, members must have an up-to-date profile displaying a first name and a recent photograph. (You will receive ample warning before any removal).
• Safe Space: Zero tolerance for bullying, abuse, or harassment. We want this to be a happy space for everyone.
• Group Costs: Twice a year, we ask for an optional minimum £2 donation from regular members to help cover running costs and keep the group going.
