Spontaneous Fun in New England is a vibrant, year-round recreational and social events group right here in New England. We're a community of folks just like you – curious, energetic, and always up for something new. From exploring hidden gems to trying new experiences, we're all about embracing the expected and unexpected and creating unforgettable memories together.
Think about conquering scenic hiking trails, bicycle rides, exciting trips near and far, delicious dinners at local spots, captivating bands, and so much more!

We’re going on a narrated tour cruise of the isles of shoals and Portsmouth Harbor. The 2.75 hours cruise departs from Portsmouth Harbor at 1:50, with boarding at 1:20, and offers opportunities for bird watching, catching the beauty of the sea coast and exploring the harbor and the islands' history. There are nine Isles of Shoals: Duck, Appledore, Malaga, Smuttynose, Cedar, Star, Lunging, White and Seavey. Our cruise does not stop, no disembarking. The cruise takes place rain or shine. Check in at ticket window to get your boarding pass.
Cruise embarks on the M/V Thomas Laughton, a 90-foot vessel with three decks, all having open air seating as well as two enclosed cabins and four restrooms. There is a galley bar that includes hot dogs, candy, chips, drinks and alcoholic drinks. Be sure to dress in layers. Remember that it is 10 to 15 degrees cooler on the water than it is on land. Also be aware that the sun is bright. Don't forget your sun block!
Reservations for daytime sightseeing cruises are required with full payment in advance. Please pre buy your ticket, adult $32/Senior $29, from the website: https://islesofshoals.com.
We’re going to meet at The Goat restaurant, 142 Congress Street, at 11:00a. That allows us time to eat and get to the boarding area by 1, to get our boarding pass and be ready to board at 1:20. There’s onsite convenient parking near the boarding area for $5.00. You may also use the Portsmouth parking garage for $1 an hour.
Note: Once purchased, tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. The Isles of Shoals Steamship Company is not responsible for passengers who miss the boat due to Mother Nature, traffic, personal sickness, oversleeping, the dog eating their tickets, etcetera.

WHERE TO MEET UP: Due to the type of event this is, the best I can do is that once I find a spot, add the exact location to the event comments.
PARKING: Free parking is pretty simple on street or adjacent to the bandstand area. The earlier you arrive the better chance closer to the bandstand.* ABOUT: These wonderful concerts at the bandstand and usually very well-attended. Usually they have BBQ ( non profit or other) Ice cream etc. But you can bring your own picnic supper/snacks and beverage. But, this venue is town property and NO ALCOHOL is allowed. It's also considered a family event. So please don't bring any. Thanks for your understanding : - )
THE WEATHER: Rain will cancel this event as a Meet Up. The band can't play if it's too wet. If you are on the RSVP list as "going", please be sure to stay in the loop for updates.
