What we’re about
Come Ride With Us! The Spokane Bicycle Club is a recreational and social organization that promotes lifelong cycling for fun and health. Group rides range from leisurely 10-mile social rides to longer fitness and endurance rides, as well as occasional multi-day tours. Some rides are urban and some are in the wider Inland Northwest around Spokane and Coeur d'Alene. We offer monthly meetings showcasing cycling adventures and innovation, and we advocate for safe cycling through sponsoring and supporting cycle-positive events and activities. More about our club can be found at: www.spokanebicycleclub.org. Route Description: No riding season is complete without a climb up Charles Road. About a mile and a half of serious climbing, with sections at +/- 13% grade. This ride will start from the Little Garden Café and follow the traditional Monday route to Sontag Park; from there, five miles along Charles Road to the beginning of the climb proper. Once we get that out of the way, it’s a pleasant ride with mountain views through rural scenery, west along Charles, south along Wood and east along Coulee Hite Road, with about 10 miles of descending in the mix. We’ll connect with 7 Mile Road, then make a left along 0.8 miles of gravel to the Deep Creek Overview. Then it's back onto the Centennial Trail returning to the start along the traditional Monday route.
Note: after Sontag (mile 11), no water or food available, so plan accordingly.
