Dipsea and Steep Ravine Trail might just be the perfect hike! It weighs in at approx 7 miles with 1665' elevation gain, but has everything! Spectacular Ocean views? Check. Old growth Redwood forest? Check. Gushing waterfalls? Check. Bridges, steps and a ladder going up the canyon for a good heart pumping workout? Check. A place to refill your water bottle at the hike midpoint? A place to buy ice cream in the parking lot? Check. More Cows? Well, ok, you won’t see any cows on this one, but it really is one of the most beautiful hikes in the Bay Area. It’s a bit more of a drive than usual but , like they say “the best things in life aren’t always in your backyard”. Be a fun drive to take with your fellow hikers and should be no traffic early Saturday morning. We will take the route with the stairs on the way up and take our time to take in the sights. Imagine some day reflecting back on your life and sadly saying "my only regret in life is that I didn't hike Dipsea and Steep Ravine?". Don't let that happen to you.
There are Restrooms at Stinson Beach , and up at the top.
You really should carpool on this one because of the driving distance:

An awesome hike must be paired with an equally terrific place for lunch. Piazza D'Angelo at 22 Miller Ave. Mill Valley, is such a place. Don't forget to save room for their Tiramisu , you'll never go back to candy corn. Checkout their menu. Also, since very few places give us separate checks, remember that when the bill comes, add up your food and drinks, then multiply it by 1.3. That is the amount to put in and will cover taxes and tip.
Invasion of Privacy question (henceforth known as )IOPQ will be: If you could have superpower, what would it be? (i.e, to fly, be bulletproof, have X-ray vision, have an unlimited capacity to eat ice cream, etc)
Attendance: If you are signed for a hike, or on the waitlist, please remove yourself to the "not going " list as soon as you become unsure about attending, so another waitlister can have adequate notice that they are going. Also, it is not okay to just show up to a hike you are not listed as "going" to.
DO NOT ATTEND if you're experiencing any cold or flu symptoms, have a compromised immune system, or if you've been exposed to or tested positive for COVID-19.
